Tumblr wouldn't let me tag you in a reply so I just wanted to say I have no problem with you leaving comments! I love talking with other Buster fanatics :) And yeah, Joe is basically a hot air balloon-- everything the dude ever said should be taken with a grain of salt.
hooray! and yeah that was my exact opinion when i was reading the doorstopper, lol, i was sitting there going "damn this man pioneered the field of used car salesmanship before used cars even existed"
Wait Until Dark, Sunset Blvd, Notorious, To Catch a Thief, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, How to Steal a Million, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Splendor in the Grass
There aren’t a lot of different outfits in Wait Until Dark but I always really loved this look that Audrey wears. I love the color and style of of the sweater! It’s all together a cozy but stylish outfit. Perfect autumn vibe too.
For Sunset Blvd this black gauzy dress is so beautiful and elegant with a dramatic flair worthy of Norma.
In Notorious I really like the outfit she wears to the horse race, so many little details and I love the netting! I also really like the black dress she wears. It’s a simple dress with a beautiful cut and the embellishments really make it something special.
I just answered To Catch a Thief so I’ll skip that one, although I do also really like the gold costume ball dress.
For Gentlemen Prefer Blondes I think people would expect me to choose the iconic pink dress, and while it’s lovely I am not big on satin.
Instead I choose this blue suit that Marilyn wears. I absolutely love the little jacket, especially the cuff on the sleeves!
How to Steal a Million has to be the head to toe black lace outfit.
I especially love the black lace mask! Such a look!
I have to admit I love the iconic long black dress with pearls dress from Breakfast at Tiffany’s. I especially love the back details!
And for Splendor in the Grass I really like the blue suit and hat Natalie wears at her last therapy session. I love how the hat and gloves really bring it all together!
Thank you so much for asking! This one was a lot of fun but took some time to find all the images!
name a movie and i’ll reply with an image of my favorite costume from it
Ehh sort of in between. I’m usually quite a neat freak but I just haven’t had the time or motivation to clean lately.
30. whats your favorite candle scent?
I don’t use candles, as much as I’d love to. My parents don’t let me :/ The fact that my dad is a firefighter is probably a big part of that, I guess
34. favorite actress?
Hmm maybe Mabel Normand?
46. whats your go to hair style?
A bun. I wear some variation of a bun basically every day
55. what is your dream job?
A historian and historical re-enactor!
62. do you still watch cartoons?
Yes! I grew up on a lot of old cartoons and it’s fun to rewatch them. I love Looney Toons, the original Scooby Doo cartoons (from 1969 and 1970), and Tintin.
For the drabble request, more of Nega Scrooge and Nega Magica interacting from that Negaverse AU you had in the Disney Storybits
Ooo ho ho :3 Let’s see what darkness I can create today... how about putting in some other supporting characters to expand that weird world?
Magica felt like she was going to besick. The stench of cigar smoke filled the room, and the idea ofopening a window would only suggest she planned to stay longer thannecessary. Despite the illness in her throat, she kept still andcivil, sitting up straight as she met Mickey's eyes. He took anotherbig puff, perhaps enjoying how uncomfortable it made her more thanits actual taste. “So what I'm saying, Spell, is that if you joinup with us, life's easy street. You got me?”
“That's Ms. De Spell to you.”Poe growled, standing near the doorway.
Magica held up a hand, silentlygesturing for her brother, and bodyguard, to settle down. Poe huffed, sticking his hands in his pockets and looking away. Magica took over.“The offer is appreciated, Mister Mouse-”
“Mickey, please. We're all palshere.” He said with an open gesture of his palms, as if his heavilyarmed guards behind him were his best friends.
“-But I'm going to have to decline.”She continued. “I can't afford to have my business tangled up inyour... affairs. The bad press alone would tank my stocks.”
Mickey clicked his tongue. “Thosecharges never stuck.”
“Regardless, they were made. Simplyput, I think it would be best if we stayed out of each other's way.”
Mickey tapped his greasy fingers on thetable – he wasn't used to anyone denying him. “Maybe you're notgetting the whole picture, toots.” Poe began to growl again. “We'renot offering just moolah here. You stick with us, you getprotection... especially from the McDucks.” He smiled, enjoying thenotch of fear that sparked in Magica's eyes. Just the name along wasenough to induce terror in her. “Not exactly a secret how he'safter your number one... 'course, that's the story that's being sold. You and I know differently, don't you?”
Magica turned her head away, but it wasimpossible to ignore her trembling hands. “I will not ally with onecriminal to save myself from another.”
This was enough to make Mickey laugh.“Oh, you really think this a rock and a hard place situation?Newsflash, honey, I've got a gal of my own, and you're not exactly mytype. I couldn't care less who you get on your arm. But Scrooge? LastI heard... he didn't take too kindly to that fiance of yours. Ah,where are my manners – ex-fiance. Can't exactly marry a guy who'slittle more than blood pudding now. Emphasis on the blood.”
Magica got up from her seat so quicklyand violently that her chair fell over, the sound of it as loud as anexplosion on an empty battlefield. She had a hand covering her mouth, fighting tears in her eyes. Poe grabbed her by the arm beforeshooting a hateful glare at the mob boss. “We're out of here, andyou ever come near my sister again, I'll rip off those big ears ofyou and feed them to your mutts!” He pulled Magica close to him andlead her out of the room, quietly trying to reassure her that whathappened to that poor man hadn't been her fault.
“Offer's always open, toots.”Mickey called after them, waiting patiently until he could no longerhear their footsteps. He lightly tapped his cigar into his ash traybefore addressing his guards. “Send a wire to McDuck. Let him knowshe's not gunna fold as easily as I thought... but I just need alittle more time. I'll have her wrapped up like a Christmas presentjust in time for the holidays.”
Perhaps this will make me sound like a “bad” old Hollywood fan but, I have to admit that up until recently, I didn’t care much for silent films beyond maybe the history behind their production. Now, if I had to pick a film it would be City Lights (1931). I had the chance to re-watch it with a friend and discovered a quite liked it!
19. Favorite ‘30s movie(s)?
This. is. torture. We had 1939 in the 1930s! I guess, I could mention: Grand Hotel (1932), Of Human Bondage (1934), My Man Godfrey (1936), Bringing Up Baby (1938), Jezebel (1938), Dark Victory (1939) Gone with the Wind (1939)… I truly hated this film with all my soul the first time I attempted to watch it but, after the third trial, I finally started to appreciate its cinematic and historical value…and of course I couldn’t get enough of Rhett Butler; so to resume: Love Affair (1939), Ninotchka (1939), Wuthering Heights (1939) and other I’m convinced!
20. Favorite ‘40s movie(s)?
Hmm. Most movies of the film noir genre would fit into this. I really loved this era for this reason. Other than that, I suppose I should mention Casablanca (1942).
21. Favorite ‘50s movie(s)?
Ahhhh, this is too hard! In no particular order I would say: In a Lonely Place (1950), A Streetcar Named Desire (1951), From Here to Eternity (1953), On the Waterfront (1954)… anything with Marlon Brando from this era really; also, A Star is Born (1954), Sabrina (1954), An American in Paris (1955), An Affair to Remember (1957), Love in the Afternoon (1957) * I know most people absolutely hated that movie, but I recently discovered I was a hopeless romantic and I love the score from the film so… well, Christine (1958), Hiroshima, Mon Amour (1959)… and many more I am sure!
i love all Kubrick’s films, but i have to choose A Clockwork Orange. it’s one of my fav films of all time, i adore the retro-futuristic style of dystopian Britain and the unusual portayal of evil, how people who deny the right to choose are equally bad as the people who commit conventional crimes (like Alex). and again, perfect cast.
