The orchids trail (GC4DTFG) is a great hike close to Nittel (DE/RP). You have a fantastic view over the Mosel and it’s vineyards. There are hundreds of wild orchids here. There is a perfect park4night spot close to Nittel just a few kilometres uphill. Are you good at playing chess?

I got this ask on Nittel so I suppose it has to do with that. ;-) Well, while I do know how to play it I’m not so good at it, because if I ever do it it’s only on Nittel. I have friends who -unlike myself- play it a lot in yeshiva (at night) or on Shabbos. Some of them are really good at it.

I also have a cousin who as a 8 year old already beat old men with long white beards. That kid really was a genius in chess (today he’s a bucher already). But like I said if I ever play it’s only on Nittel. But to be honest I prefer to do some “non-traditional” activities on Nittel, like reading up on historical stuff, psychology books/studies, etc.

First Xmas Break Ever!

Since it was Nittel yesterday, my, my friends' and my siblings' yeshivos/school all had a day off. But then came the "snow storm" and most schools are now canceled until Motzei Shabbos. 

So that means we basically have a Xmas break. Moshiach must be coming very soon...

Nittel II

Today January 6th is Nittel for the other half of the world. In my yeshiva we don’t learn from 12PM till 12AM. 

One of my friends said today he thought it didn’t make any sense and should be from chatzos until chatzos.

“What?” someone else then said, “Nittel doesn’t have anything to do with chatzos. A goy looks at the clock.” He then continued asking rhetorically, “A Yid ever pays attention to time???”
