"I'm-" He sniffled "I'm completely fine." He wasn't, Jing had come down with the common cold at possibly the worst time ever. But then again it was always the worst time ever, because there wasn't a day out of the year where he wasn't trying to do a billion things at once. That was how he liked it, anyway.
"You came here for a story on our wond-" He coughed into his robe. "wonderful city, and you're going to get what you need for that story." He took a moment to compose himself. "Do you have any questions before we begin?"
(best kiss meme) Anju's face was slightly flushed, probably due to the number of alcoholic drinks she had consumed. She winked at a couple of girls she was with before marching up to Maniitok, grabbing a fistful of hair from the back of his head and forcefully pulling him into a hard, passionate kiss. It might have been a little sloppy from her drunkenness, but due to her experience, it could have easily been mistaken for a little playfulness.
Maniitok was more than a little surprised by the young journalist throwing herself at his much larger body. However, it was the spontaneity of the moment that he found himself enjoying the kiss, and feeling the slight tug on the back of his head where she had grabbed his ponytail. He hoisted her up under her rear so they could stay head-to-head, enjoying the kiss as fervently as they could. In the back of his mind, Maniitok could hear the jeers and teasing of the other club patrons amid the thumping of the music’s baseline, but he didn’t care. He was drunk, happy, and in the middle of a kiss with a fiery little number, and what was wrong with that?
Trying to squeeze past all the other reporters to try and get a question in for the Fire Lord was like trying to squeeze through a reindeer-dog door after eating five bowls of noodles. Fortunately, after having accomplished the latter, Anju had enough experience to accomplish the former. "FIRE LORD IZUMI. HERE. OVER HERE. Is it true that the Avatar wasn't invited to the world leaders' meeting? Was this your decision?"
Reporters swarmed around her. While she understood- and appreciated- the need to report the news, the chaos and chatter seemed unnecessary and unprofessional.
"The meeting was organized by President Raiko, and was a continuation of several other meetings that the Avatar had not attended. The decision was not mine; it was something forced on us by the situation."
Anju was not happy with the idea of trying to get an interview with Tahno. She didn't like having to swim through a sea of fangirls and other reporters just to try and get an interview scheduled. Not to mention the stories she'd heard about how full of himself he was... She grumbled and pushed past people, sometimes outright shoving them to get to the front. "HEEEEEY! HEY TAHNO! OVER HERE!" She waved her arm, hoping to get his attention.
Tahno left the arena after a very successful match, only to be blinded by pop flashes and deafened by the cries and screams from the hundreds who had gathered to congratulate his team on a job well done, and a record-breaking streak.
Spirits, did he love his city.
He tried to connect with everybody around him, flashing sweet, charming smiles and offering winks to the lovely ladies (and gentlemen—he didn't judge) that swooned over him. He adored his fans—they made him—and he'd be damned if his name was ever synonymous with mistreatment of others. A playboy, certainly. Conceited—he wouldn't agree nor disagree—but above anything, he was a gentlemen.
One of the voices rang louder than the rest, or perhaps he had simply gotten better at tuning out the redundant questions asked by reporters at the end of each match. Regardless, he threw his glance around, searching for the source of the voice.
With a grin, he found her, and nodded in her direction, as if to silently tip her off that yes, he was coming, and he leaned into Ming, who was pressed to his side, and murmured something in his ear about lingering behind, and waved both Ming and Shaozu forward.
He took his short detour, approaching the fresh-faced girl with a crooked smile breaking his lips and revealing white, straight teeth. Around them, his dolls went wild, screaming their adoration and excitement of being so close to their dear pro-bender, but Tahno didn't break his eye contact with the sweet girl at his front.
"You called," He hummed, leaning especially close to her so she could hear. His voice wasn't as smooth as he preferred, hoarse from crying out signals and formations to his team mates during the match. "What can I do for you, darling?"
Cool green eyes took in the reporter, a mock pout gracing Asami’s burgundy lips. “Now now, that’s not very polite. You’re a reporter, you should know I am very far from bad.”
She brought up her manicured fingers, listing off her good deeds. “I donate and volunteer my time to the orphanage. I host many charity balls and the woman’s shelter was able to expand thanks to my contributions. That doesn’t sound like something a bad person would do, does it?” Her haughty tone mocked the reporter, daring her to say more.
Alright, to avoid cluttering everyone's dash, I've responded to all the asks at once!
amicablestateofmind asked you: Nightmares
Inazuma: Her latest nightmare involved her captured by Equalists and coming face-to-mask with Amon, who stole her bending. This was her biggest fear involving the move to Republic City.
Maniitok: His most consistent nightmare is being outed as a bloodbender to his family and summarily disowned from his family and the fortune promised to him.
Akul: He once had an incredibly vivid nightmare, where he found himself lost in a room full of others who looked exactly like him. He could only act and operate exactly like the others.
amicablestateofmind asked you: Memories
Inazuma: Inazuma’s fondest memory is of her family back home, and how they had welcomed her back with open arms after her failure at the Firebending Academy.
Maniitok: Maniitok’s first memory was of his mother’s funeral. It’s still very fuzzy, and there’s no real emotion attached to it, since he was too young to understand its significance at the time.
Akul: Akul’s worst memory was when he first realized that his parents’ affections were completely based on his compliance to their whims and their desire to make him into an RCPD officer.
bravelittlesoldiergirl asked you: Slaughter
None of the Elite Three will take a job that involves killing or harming anyone as a part of its primary objective, though they will fight off anyone who will try and stop them. Akul is the only one (so far) with blood on his hands, having accidentally killed two aggressors while protecting Mei of the Agni Kai’s from an assassination attempt.
askzhuli asked you: Revenge (Inazuma)
Inazuma considers her improvement in firebending the greatest revenge against the instructors of the Firebending Academy. Even though her firebending is still relatively unimpressive, she’s incredibly motivated to improve her bending.
askzhuli asked you: Laugh (Maniitok)
The deep, barking laugh most normally associated with Maniitok is actually just for show. When he laughs uncontrollably… he snorts.
askzhuli asked you: Delirious (Akul)
Akul once believed that all people functioned with the same set of values he does; that the ability to think and perform rationally and without hesitation is the single greatest asset anyone could possess. Soon after joining the Elites, he learned otherwise.
nittygrittyanju asked you: Lies (Manitok)
Maniitok tells people that he’s an orphan in order to keep others from finding out that his father, a kind but weak politician in the Southern Water Tribe is currently in prison, framed by his rivals for embezzling money.
nittygrittyanju asked you: Love (Inazuma)
Inazuma ‘doesn’t have time for love,’ which is only half-true. While she is busy with the Elites and their line of work, she both wants and is afraid of finding someone she feels a connection with, lest she get distracted from her goals of mastering firebending and achieving true financial independence.
nittygrittyanju asked you: Urge (Akul)
Akul sometimes feels the urge to do something spontaneous, something fun and exhilarating. Sometimes with people, who he usually avoids. He’ll squash these urges by hunting for work or meditating until they go away.
