This is my character from our podcast, Roll Like a Girl. Her name is Nat the Bear, she is a gnome paladin, she will drink you under the table and then make sure you get home safe. This art was created by @skyneverthelimit and I couldn't be happier! I keep staring at it and smiling. 😍

Character Backstory

This is the... sorta... backstory? More of a RP guide with story-snippets... that I’ve written for my character Nat “the Bear”, a gnome paladin I’ll be playing starting Tomorrow Morning.

While a nickname like "the bear" might seem a strange one for a gnome, anyone who has spent time with Nat recognizes its accuracy. She is confident, brave, and curious, and she is kind and welcoming unless provoked. She would much sooner make friends, but is a deadly enemy. Nat is energetic and independent, sometimes to a fault... she'd rather do things herself than have them go wrong - this goes for leading the way into a fray as well as more intellectual pursuits. She is extremely devout, but her views of the divine are... unfocused. She attended Alvesteria's Multi-Faith Seminary, and became infamous for "waffling" from deity to deity. After decades, she eventually pledged her sword to Trithereon, because of his order's devotion to individuality and its hard line against slavery. Still, she is more likely to say a prayer (or a curse) to "the gods" rather than invoke a particular deity. Over the past dozen years, Nat has worked tirelessly to open and run a tuition-free school to teach self-defense to Whoever is Interested. She loves the teaching but hates the diplomacy required to keep donations coming in.
