Please enjoy this unedited snippet from Amnesia Bradley AU (still working on a title for it):
"I'm sorry, I didn't know where else to go," Bradley says, quiet and broken. He figures he most look a sight —a pathetic, broken sight he's sure— which is why Shannon Seresin waves him in, guiding him through the house and up a flight of stairs with her small hand on his back. "Come on, sugar," Shannon murmurs as they go. "Lets get you showered. Then we'll see about getting some good food in your belly." She clucks her tongue, a small shake of her head. "You been loosing weight. I don't like that, sugar, I don't like that at all." Bradley doesn't bother trying to protest. Just lets Shannon guide him into a well lived in room, towards an in suit bathroom. She runs him through real quick how to work the set up before promising to be back real quick with some towels and a change of clothes for him. He stands there, numb and flat. He flicks his eyes to the still open door, to the shower and back again. Tells himself to count down from thirty before he turns the water on. Which he does, staring at the door, waiting for her return. And she does when he's gets down to two. "There's some spare soaps and what not below the sink, sugar. You use which you like best. Here's a towel, and some of Jakey's old things. Should fit you decent enough till we get you're bag outta that rental." Shannon smiles, soft and motherly. And just looking at it, at her, makes Bradley want to break down once again. To rage at the unfairness of it all. To scream and through things. It's unfair he'd been unknowingly talked into cutting this woman, this family, this love and worry, out of his life.
