More shots from this night can be found here.
Our Picks: Pick Me Up - Hollerado
This Canadian band completely makes up for the fact that Nickelback is also from the Great White North. Definitely check out their new album "White Paint" and catch them on the final shows of the Dead Silence tour with Billy Talent, Sum 41, and Indian Handcrafts.
Hillside Inside Festival concert in Guelph.
This might be verryy lonng.
Okay i should start with like 2 months ago. 2 months ago me and Jake have been tweeting at eachother nonstop and its still going. I've never met Jake before. I've only met Menno. Okay, so i should also say that Hollerado is literally my f a v o u i t e band ever.
Ok so i owe Natasia (Sixties-remake) like 45 dollars now because of paying for the christmas show and the guelph concert which is okay because she knows i'll be paying her back very slowly.
We left at like 6 and got there at like 7. we were the first people there which was suprising since the place was sold out. we spent like, a good hour trying to find out where to line up and then suddenly born ruffians stopped right infront of us. But me and natasia are super awkward and shy so we like, walked away. then we went to wendys and there was a guy wearing a hollerado shirt haha. then we went back and was like fuck it so we went to the back and found people there and they said thatss where the line starts. that was the longest hour of our lives freezing to death. oh, while we were waiting hollerado execpt for menno came out. Jake came out last like 2 minutes after everyone else and we made EYE CONTACT. and i froze up and it was so hard to say hi. so then i started freaking out.
ok so when we got in we got first row against the stage where thank fucking goodness we were able to lean on the stage and put our jackets up and such.
I 'm not a big fan of born ruffians but i've heard abit of their music. Luke Lalonde is f u c k i n g s e x y. They played amazingly. Idk if i took this the wrong way but there was a part where mitch started playing at the very front of the stage and his balls were like, in my face and i was looking at it like o.e then i looked up and he smiled at me. awks i'm 15. ohwell. I was also kind of scared he was gunna kick me and natasia in the face or hit us with ohis guitar because we were literally that close. I got their setlist for Natasia though.
Then Hollerado came on and the crowd got hyped up as fuck. I'm so suprised i didnt start crying. but i started freaking out because JAKE BOYD WAS IN MY EYESIGHT. IN FUCKING PERSON. They opened with Good Day at the races which really amped up the crowd. They also painted everything white because of their new album thats coming out in 3 weeks. Menno told a story about in france and a homeless guy who threw his bigmac and a lady. He also talked about his grandfather that was touching. Oh, and bytheway, in the beginning when they got on i screamed "I LOVE YOU JAKE" and he smiled and pointed at me because he recognized me from twitter. I got really into it, jumping and such because i really loved the experience, the crowd specially really wasnt annoying thank fucking god. oh, and natasia got me Mennos setlist. That girl is REALLY good at reaching for somebody shorter then me LOL. Oh, and yknow when like, menno, nixon, and dean spit? the second time they did that i huge blob of mennos beer spit landed on my finger. then he went upfront and stuff and i was contemplating weather or not i should wipe his spit on his pants LOL. Then menno crowd surfed and i helped him up i was planning to take his shoe off and then throw it back but it was tight on his foot LOL. i touched his butt though :B
then after the show Jake went to me and i shook his hand and he he was all like "oh right you're that girl from twitter right?" and omg i was so happy. i kept saying thank you because i was so awkward and nervous i didnt know what to do but i was really happy. then dean was doing something on stage so we asked him if he could sign our setlist which he did and then we talked abit. Then we were about to leave but then we saw nixon. we werent sure if we were able to go to that able but then natasia said jake was there so i like automatically started walking. Nixon then signed my setlist and he noticed it was mennos LOL. Nixon is actually really funny. So then i went back to jake because i forgot to ask him to sign my setlist which he did. I cant say how many times i said thank you to him or that i love him but yeah he signed my setlist and told me thank you for coming. Then i asked for a hug and we hugged one thing i forgot though was to ask for a picture but thats okay. now i'm bringing my setlist like everywhere.
Plot twist: Jake still doesnt even know my name.
Supercrawl: Best Night Ever
So last night at Supercrawl I got to see Rococode (met one of the band members... my first!), Great Lakes Swimmers (met the lead singer), and HOLLERADOOOOO (met the drummer, Jake Boyd). My friends and I got to the front three times in a row. Man, Hollerado was an awesome show, and some great moments took place. One of which my friend was found being spit on by Menno Versteeg and an proceeded to lick it off. Ugh, I gag, but it was still pretty amazing.
Oh, by the way, I touched Menno's foot and he took my hand two times. hlskdjhafldjhlfaksjflasiuhfnslajfnabljsnjn;jsnf;jsanfkjsfngkasjnf;gafjksng;askfjng
Also, Nixon Boyd is HAWT. That is all.
