The dorm zone consists of a large forest,hills,rivers,and quite the woodland vibe. The day time while beautiful to look at is more eerie feeling given no one around much. There is wildlife living deeper in the woods that don't really bother no one. Though deer tend to be spotted often but run away unless a certain person is with you.
The Hillside Cottages
The dorm building of Serendipia is rather different then others as it's not a single building at all. It's a series of wooden cottages built on the side of a large hill.

Each cottage was handmade/slightly magicmade by the 1st Serendipia students and has been maintained by the new ones ever since. For every piece of wood needed to fix something on one a student plants a new tree where the old one was.

Due to the position of where they are near the large hill, often an eerie fog resides around them as if they are meant to be hidden. The fog does aid in the daytime to block more light as the students sleep. At night the fog turns shades of violets due to lights put out to see better.

This is the main reason Serendipia dorm uniforms glow at night as it combats the fog when they want to do activities at night after class. Yet the fog is perfect for their campfire stories and things they do almost every night.

The fog isn't always there as days where it's clear or barely there fog do happen too. These days are for sure party nights where Damián throws fun group dance parties + fun mini games to keep people happy and active since no physical education is taught to Serendipia students.

Students love going over to others' lil cottage and seeing how it's decorated inside and out. Sleep overs happen a lot and everyone is just so friendly with each other.

Some odd cottages are the one for the current housewarden which isn't located on the hillside. It is by a river a little deeper into the woods. "Follow the river up as it streams down" is what students will tell you if looking for his place. Often cats will be around it if he inside or nearby.

Another is the giant cottage near the entrance of Serendipia. It's not hidden and is the home of the cat haven,Night's meow. It was built by Damián & friends recently so it lacks the aged look but the cats are giving it that daily.

Lastly, the strangest one is "The cottage in the sky". This refers to the treehouse looking cottage built in a very tall almost to the sky tree. This is the home of nrc librarian Niyol Nyx and was his dorm cottage when he was housewarden of Serendipia. Due to him having to stay on campus for work he just repurposed his dorm to a small home. Many students with wings or flying skill love to go up to see it as it looks so unreal being up there and also talking to Niyol if he up there as he a wise owl. Most times students just wanna hear him laugh cause he makes hoot sounds when he does.

Here’s a little design reference I made for myself of my character, Niyol. I’ll be using him for my webcomic, too. So, yeah. At some point in the future I’ll post more information about it, unless people want to hear more sooner. I’m just over 100 followers, so I’m obviously still establishing myself on this site.

OC’s Lore Summary: Snowy owl of wise knowledge. He has served as the housewarden of Serendipia for a long time and often does if no one is chosen. He is one of many NRC librarians you may see but he mostly works at night and in the back doing inventory on new or old books to hand to others to shelve. His words are like someone is painting a picture and you are the canvas.
Personality: Kind and Serene,His presence just exudes this to most who see him. His black soulless looking eyes however can make him seem scary as well as his talons if not covered. He admits he is scary looking but not scary minded or he thinks not. He always seems to be living in the past or in some era not of the current.
Fun Facts: He listed as 4th year student so he can become Serendipia's housewarden whenever its needed. He currently isn't and hasn't been for decades.
The magic that lights up the current Serendipia dorm uniform is from Niyol. He been designing the uniform for years and always makes it light up or glow in the night. He sews the housewarden uniform personally.

He can talk normally and does so around those he feels comfortable with. He also will just talk in hoots with other owls.
Currently he is discussing with Crowley that now since Serendipia has a housewarden who seems maybe ageless again that they can alternate the role so long as he is ageless he may not be. Niyol feels he isn't in normal aging time like mortals.
Niyol room is a treehouse on top of some very tall trees in the Serendipia dorm zone. Only him and other birds/bird humans can even reach. He has a spell below it that prevents flying to it via magic. So others must be taken to it via non-magic means like him carrying you. The view of the moon and landscape is so clear up there. Don't worry he is not always up there.
He acts very fatherly to other bird beasthuman or bestialhuman individuals like Sable. He likes to envelop them into his big soft wings. He also will always cook them food when they are sick.
Is oblivious to alot of modern logics of teen mortals but he loves pop music bouncy beats. He learned how to work a touchscreen mp3 player with nothing but pop music on it and big headphones so can listen without disturbing anyone. He asks Lilia to fill it with new pop music and charge it for him. He dances too but good luck finding him doing so.
During some of spring and most of summer he may hibernate alot or just appear on cooler days only as it's too hot for him. He uses a spell to keep cool but can't be near books when using it. This is usually when he isn't in his tree house as it is too close to summer sun. He retreats into the bottom of a hollowed tree to sleep.
He always wonders what mortals are doing so will sometimes watch from afar of activities the students are doing. He wants to interact but knows he may scare them.
