Yesterday at the National Black United Front (NBUF) #NJoyaWeusi After School STEM & Cultural Arts Program we honored the Independence of Ghana 🇬🇭 by learning about and making African masks with Adinkra symbols. We also worked to sharpen the math skills of the young queens. Thank you to the Vice President of The Federal City Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Jacqueline Smalls for coming through and showing us some love! She was a very big help and the students loved her!! What we saw in #Wakanda in the film Black Panther can be a reality and not just a film when we work together. Using the principles of #Kwanzaa: Unity, Self-Determination, Collective Work & Responsibilty, Co-operative Economics, Purpose, Creativity and Faith we can make this happen. Thank you to everyone that has supported the program either through donation, volunteering or our wishlist. Now we have to work on making sure they can have healthy food options! At the N'Joya Weusi After School STEM & Cultural Arts Program we learned the art of digital photography. We didn’t realize how much fun our students would have with a camera 📷. Seeing the smiles in their faces brought so much joy to ours. Each day when we attempt to teach them, we learn more than they do lol. We have learned that young minds are ready and eager to be cultivated and we have a duty to the next generation to provide them with a knowledge of self. No matter if it’s a book, a science project or in this case a camera, we must take the responsibility to teach our children. With all that’s going on in the mainstream school system our children need us, more than ever. The goal of the National Black United Front (NBUF) is to build a politically conscious, unified, committed and effective Black mass movement. The goal National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) is to increase the number of culturally responsible Black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community.
