Greetings all -

 Thanks to everyone who gave good feedback on our New Mexico Integrated Plan for HIV Prevention and Care: 2017 - 2021 during our CPAG meeting yesterday.  I'm excited to begin implementation of the plan when CPAG resumes in January 2017.

 We gave out the first 100 printed copies yesterday - and more are coming.  Please let me know if you want a paper copy and weren't able to join us yesterday.

 The plan is also now available on the CPAG website.  It's the first item on our "Plans" page, found here:

Integrated Plan - please share key accomplishments

Greetings all –

 At the CPAG statewide meeting last Friday, I shared the first draft of the Integrated Plan for HIV Prevention and Care.  To kick off that plan, the first section in the overview/summary is a list of key strengths and accomplishments of New Mexico in responding to HIV – including innovative programs, highlights of services, etc.

 If you have ideas of key strengths in our state that you’d like to see included in that key introductory section of the plan, please send me your suggestions no later than THIS FRIDAY, SEPT 16th.  You can just suggest a topic – or include data/highlights to include if you have them.

CPAG is this Friday!

Greetings all –

Our CPAG statewide meeting is this Friday.  And there are only TWO more meetings (this week and September 9th) before the Integrated Plan for HIV Prevention and Care is complete!

A key task on Friday is to review and approve the updated version of the Goals, Objectives and Strategies for 5 year (2017-2021) that will be at the core of the plan.  The members of the Reading Committee have already completed their review.

For everyone to have a chance before the meeting, I’ve attached:

-        The latest updated version of the Goals, Objectives and Strategies.  Key changes from our last draft in May: - These now have SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time-phased) objectives.   - And the strategies are updated a little to link better with the objectives – by having some items moved around. - And this incorporates all the excellent input, feedback and discussion from our Town Hall meeting on May 13th

-        A version of the Goals, Objective and Strategies with a column that has ALL the notes from the May 13th Town Hall.  That way everyone can ensure that the input from that meeting was incorporated into the revised draft.

Greetings all –

 Another section of our Integrated Plan for HIV Prevention and Care is now complete.  It took a lot of work and discussion by the Regional Advisory Groups (RAG), so I’m excited to share.

 Attached is the draft of the “Top 3 Needs, Gaps and Barriers” by each RAG.  I think the themes raised by these groups really illustrate how issues vary around our large state.  This is another key element to ensuring that our plan really reflects the unique needs of New Mexico.

 This isn’t on the agenda for August 12th – but I’m sure the co-chairs of each RAG would appreciate any feedback – and definitely any congrats on their work and leadership.

Looking for Reading Committee volunteers!!

Hello all!

As Andrew indicated in emails earlier this week, NMCPAG for July is CANCELLED!

During this brief hiatus, I thought it might be good to start asking for volunteers to serve on the Reading Committee. We hope to have a diverse group who will do the most careful read of the draft of the Integrated Plan and of our Goals, Objectives and Strategies.  This group will ensure input and feedback on each draft – and will report to the full CPAG. We have used this format for many planning cycles, and find it very helpful to have a few sets of eyes that have confirmed their intent to review the drafts and provide a verbal report at the Concurrence Meeting in September.

Ideally, we want a diverse group that's not heavily NMDOH. Typically this group has included about 6-8 members, including the 3 non-DOH co-chairs.  So we need about 4-5 more volunteers, and we hope to have at least one person per region.

If you would like to serve on the Reading Committee, please email the statewide co-chairs and we will compile the list. If you are able email all 4 of us, but if you don’t have all of our email addresses any of us will forward it to the rest of the group.

Integrated HIV Plan:  Goals, Objectives and Strategies

Greetings all –

  We’ll be having a group discussion of the Goals, Objectives and Strategies for our Integrated Plan at the Town Hall next week.  Attached are the original version from our Planning Summit (version 1) – and a version that’s been edited by myself and the CPAG Co-Chairs to remove some redundancy and organize things better, based on our discussion last month (version 3).

  Please review the new version before the Town Hall – and bring your great ideas how to improve it further to direct our HIV work over the coming years!

Greetings all –

 Thanks for everyone’s help as we work to create New Mexico’s first-ever Integrated Plan for HIV Prevention and Care.

 A key section of that plan is our Goals, Objectives and Strategies for the next three years.  We’ll continue to work on this section for the next two months.

 Attached is a full draft of this document, from the great work done at our Annual Planning Summit back in February.  This was presented at the CPAG meeting last Friday.

 Task for now à  Please review this draft to see if there are any important objectives or strategies for HIV prevention and/or care that are not included anywhere.  If you have any suggested ideas that are missing, please send them to me and the CPAG co-chairs by this Friday, April 15th.

 After that, the CPAG co-chairs will be working to organize this draft.  We’ll then circulate a new version for everyone to review.
