The most rewarding work of Delta happens at the alumnae level. When preparing to transition, keep an open mind, heart and Delta spirit. Remember your vows and welcome change! I joined NMAC because my collegiate prophytes were members of the recently chartered NMAC, so not transitioning was not an option. I also felt an instant connection to the Sorors there, both my peers and those with more years in Delta. It is important to transition to an alumnae chapter after college because Delta is a LIFETIME commitment. At the alumnae chapter level, you may interact with Sorors from all different walks of life. You are immersed in the work of Delta and have the ability to serve on a larger platform. I would advise a collegiate Soror to not be worried about transitioning into an alumnae chapter. Once they attend their first chapter meeting, they may experience a period of slight adjustment, but it will surely pay off in the end. Hang in there and really take the time to learn the ins and outs of Delta. It will truly be rewarding and you will find love everywhere you go. I joined NMAC because I wanted to apart of an esteemed, diverse group of women who love to serve. NMAC sorors have opened up their homes to me and have been more than welcoming, even before joining the chapter. NMAC has been my home away from home.
