All You Need to Know About NMAT Exam Pattern!
NMAT by GMAC is one of the business entrance examinations conducted across the country for admission to MBA and PGDM programs offered by any of the campuses of Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies shortened as NMIMS University. NMIMS University shortlists candidates based on the marks obtained by them in NMAT by GMAC and it does not accept any other score while shortlisting candidates. NMAT Exam is a 75-day window test which and this feature allows candidates choose date and time of the exam as per their convenience. It also helps students to reschedule or retake the test.

Before applying for the examination, it is important to know how the question paper is formed and what type of questions are asked in the examination.
· The question paper of NMAT by GMAC consists of randomly generated questions wherein the Number of Questions, Difficulty Level, and Time Limit in the question paper are pre decided.
· Candidates are free to choose the section they wish to attempt first or they can select the sequence of sections in the question paper.
The question paper of NMAT by GMAC is divided in three sections with 120 questions in total. The questions asked in the exam analyze students’ language skills along with quantitative and logical. The number of questions varies from one section to the other in NMAT Exam Pattern. A brief description of number of questions in each section along with time limit given to complete the exam is given below. Candidates must make sure they go through this before appearing in the examination.
This section analyzes students’ knowledge of English language along with Grammar and Vocabulary. Students’ ability to handle the questions and answer them.
· The question paper consists of 32 questions that are to be completed in 22 minutes.
· It also analyzes students’ understanding of using correct grammar when required along with their ability to correct the incorrect phrases or sentences.
· This section also contains 2 to 4 reading comprehension passages to assess students’ reading skills.
This section assesses aspirants’ ability to solve mathematical questions and their calculation skills. accuracy is the major key that must be considered by students.
· It covers major topics of quantitative area including Quantitative Ability, Data Analysis, Data Sufficiency, and Data Interpretation.
· Appearing students are given 1 hour i.e. 60 minutes to complete 48 questions.
· Candidates are required to be efficient enough to keep accuracy while solving the questions.
· The difficulty level of this section is as same as that of 12th class examination.
· The segments in which the section is divided are Arithmetic, Algebra, geometry, Mensuration, Calculus, and Trigonometry.
Logical Reasoning is the third section asked in the question paper of NMAT by GMAC Question Paper. This is designed to measure and analyze aspirants’ ability to critical thinking and decision making. It is generally divided in two segments namely Verbal Reasoning and Analytical Reasoning.
