Santa Fe has numerous historic churches, but lesser known are the tiny, family built chapels, like this capilla on Cerro Gordo. A capilla is a small private chapel built next to a family home. On Cerro Gordo the capilla to La Ermita de San Isidro Labrador was built by the family of santero Ramon Jose Lopez. San Isidro is the patron saint of farmers. He was born near Madrid, Spain, during the 11th century. #NewMexico #history #heritage #tradition #culture #church #catholic #nmgrammers #nmphoto #igsouthwest #instagramer #instapic #instagood #instatravel #travelgram #totravelistolive #wander #seetheworld (at Cerro Gordo)
