Laughter breaks free from her body, her arms and legs flailing like she’s trying to row away from the monster that’s got her trapped in his arms. She remembers this line. Dad just read it last night! But, there’s a small, aching thing poking her chest when she remembers what the boy says as he leaves. She would never leave Dad, even if he was a big, wild monster.
