Uh I don't think the other anon is really making a big deal out of it. As much as you try to justify it, you literally said you imagine people saying it with an accent that's 'sassy'. That's using it as an accessory to make the dialogue seem cooler which is 100% appropriation. Also I'm Korean and this offends me.
okay i’m sorry then, i have never even thought of making fun of the korean language or even using it to mock anyone. my intention behind it was to make the dialogue more diverse and using “unnie” as the same way as “sis” but in another language. “unnie” is more commonly used in stan twt aus/ textposts and not on tumblr which can be perceived as a shock.
i see it as racism or cultural appropriation when there is a certain motive behind it. such as having ill intent, using it to make fun of a language or to make a group feel like they don’t belong in a society.
lastly, i won’t be using “unnie” anymore in my aus. i didn’t think it would be sparking up a discussion between me and my followers. i want my blog to stay a hate-free environment where everyone can feel safe and happy.
i want everyone to remember that i never wanted to make fun of the korean culture or language. i may not be korean, so i might never understand why using “unnie” is mocking the language.
still thank you for all the love and support and im sorry for offending you
Not to be presumptuous, but I believe Kelly Marie Tran is just saying she ships everything because she wants to show she's 'one of us(TM)'.
(Like I would care, I love her either way!)
What do you think of Klaroline scenes last episode?
well. that’s an interresting question, i didn’t think of it yet tbh. i’m confused. when it comes to klaroline, i didn’t change my mind, i still think it was a bad choice from the writers to make it happen this way. i mean, klaus wasn’t given a damn fuck about caroline, and suddenly he’s fully in love with her, and draws her pony. but then, their relationship is interresting. i mean, klaus is not going to change who he is to please her. he decided to kill tyler, she might beg him to not, he doesn’t change the fact that he will if he ever has the chance. and i do think it’s a right choice from the writers to keep klaus the way he is, i was quite disappointed with him during season 3.
anyway, i guess you’re asking me about those few scenes were, once again she’s using the feelings he has for her to ask him to do something for her. that’s where i think klaus’ answer was great (don’t get me wrong, i’m a tyler stan and it hurts me klaus wants to kill him, when tyler didn’t do anything to klaus but defending himself and all the hybrids he was using… anyway that’s not the point of your question lol).
then, i didn’t like when he was telling her they were the same. tbh, the first thing i thought there was : but, when it was her birthday, she was so sad she could never grow up and would never grow old, never have a true birthday anymore… why did she change her mind ? then, i get she loves the person she became more than the one she used to be, she’s more confident and stuff… but she’s nothing like klaus. on the opposite, she became a caring and selfess person, which he’s not… idk. i think this scene sounds wrong, she’s nothing like him, and to me, that’s because she’s nothing like him that he actually enjoys her… but whatever. then, she was smart to use his arguments against him, when she asked him to show her the mercy she would show him and stuff… i love her when she’s around him, because she’s so confident, and strong, and amazing. and she actually knows how to answer to what he tells her.
then, should we talk about the last KC scene ? because, once again, i’m confused with what he told her. like he showed kindness, forgiveness, pity… (because idk when this happened, when he tried to kill her, or when he threatened to one day kill the one she loves ?!) then, he told her he was acting all kind because of her. idk. he was cute there, it was like he opened his heart to her, and he got me. kinda. but it doesn’t change the fact he didn’t do anything to her but forced the one she loves to leave, making her cry by breaking her heart into pieces by forcing tyler to leave…
idk. i’m not hating there, because somehow, i love the way she seems to be his weakness and stuff, and i trust her love for tyler more than anything in the show… i’m just confused ya know.
I may get a lot of hate for this comment but frankly I don't care. In regards to the rumor or somewhat news of Shailene Woodley being considered to play in "The Fault In Our Stars"- I absolutely hate that idea.
I don't hate Shai, I love her as Amy from Secret Life, and I really like the idea of her playing Tris Prior in Divergent, but I can not see her as Hazel Grace nor do I wish to. She in my mind is all wrong for Hazel Grace and for anyone who has read "TFIOS" most of us would probably agree.
Personally, I think Shai is acting upon the opportunity to be in any film whatsoever and I have a problem with that, not because I don't like her or think she is a bad actress but because I hate that any main person is the lead or co-lead in a ton of movies all back to back.
Again, just stating MY opinion.
