Hi, I love your blog, but I was wondering if you'd elaborate on what you meant when you tagged a reblogged article about Elton John mentoring Harry, 'i wished ed stayed out of the cheap stuff'. I dont really follow Ed so is he relying more on stunts than his music to stay in the mainstream media or something?

Ed’s connection to Taylor Swift already suggests he’s got ties to stunty type stuff.  I’ve seen Ed on shows and he seems like a sweetheart, as does Harry. It’s just my personal opinion, but Taylor Swift does not seem like a sweetheart. 

I have trouble reconciling how Ed and Taylor work as friends when Taylor clearly used her advantage in the Haylor PR stunt to make Harry look like a bad guy.  I don’t know a ton about the situation, but I wouldn’t dismiss the idea that their friendship is more for PR than anything at this point.

The Ed/Ellie/Niall Don’t thing was a classic Taylor situation where Ed used a fake relationship stunt to promote a song.  Both people he was stunting with came off looking worse than him in the situation, just like tends to happen with Taylor all the time.  

The fact that Ellie had Ed touching her thigh and holding her hand at the same exact event where she was seen whispering to Niall and supposedly kissing him is already enough to prove it’s a stunt.  No celeb is stupid enough to two-time a guy in a crowd that’s being officially filmed and broadcast.

That’s already too many ties to stunts for my tastes.  Ed seems sweet, has amazing music, and has an amazing performance style, so I would love it if he were able to promote his music without resorting to stunts that make other people look bad.

I totally agree with your interpretation of Perfect. Completely sarcastic and clearly Haylor shade. I wonder if the people who say 'OMG our sons H&L wrote a song about their love' listened to the same thing I did?

I can understand the perspective they’re coming from.  The lines about hotel rooms and secret rendezvous are going to make people familiar with their closeting think about how Harry and Louis have to hide.

However, Harry’s lines just don’t fit at all.  You can’t say that Harry or Louis like walking out into flashbulbs because they haven’t been allowed to go public and they haven’t even been allowed near each other for a few years despite being in the same band.  

You also can’t say that someone writing break up songs fits Harry or Louis because they don’t seem to have ever broken up, and even if they did, you can bet they wouldn’t enjoy writing the break up songs.

If you think about it, there was that very famous time that Harry went into Taylor’s hotel.  Funnily enough, I had an anon I didn’t end up answering recently asking about that.  Harry went through the front door of the hotel while carrying an overnight bag.  The next morning he walked right back out the front door for the walk of shame.  No celeb trying to be at all private would do that. 

From what I remember, there were blurry fan pictures of Harry entering his hotel lobby in between, meaning he sneaked out after entering and snuck back in for the pap stroll in the morning.  That sounds like causing trouble in hotel rooms to me. Also, wasn’t Trouble one of the songs people attributed to being about Harry (although I think the timeline didn’t fit)?

I noticed.  I know this isn’t going to be how everyone immediately thinks about it, but I think it’s actually an entirely sarcastic song.

At first, you think they’re saying “let’s live for the moment”, but I wonder.  The part that’s Harry’s breakdown is the reason the papers have been reporting about Taylor and I don’t think they’re wrong.  

“If you like having cameras flashing whenever we go out, if you like having someone to write break up songs about”.  How, in any reality, are those qualities you’d want in a hook up if you were a pop star?  You want someone to leech off your fame and drag your name through the mud?  Only the shallowest of celebs would be okay with that because it feeds into the drama and gets them attention, but they’re not exactly going to respect the girl doing that either.

Also, what types of girls are writing break up songs except for singers?  That’s not something some random non-famous fan or acquaintance you hooked up with is going to be doing.  Taylor is KNOWN for break up songs.  There’s no more obvious dig that could have been written.

Take those two lines and apply them to the rest of the song, and you could say everything the boys are singing about is the opposite of what they want.  They don’t want to be jetting around the world on fancy, secret dates.  They want to be at home doing normal things and they want to be able to be open about who they love.

We know Louis, Harry, and Liam (and Zayn) are very dedicated to long term relationships and are pretty romantic.  Based on what’s been said about Niall by himself, his friends, and the boys, I gather he values similar things.  Why would they idealize things like NOT being around to hold someone?  They wouldn’t.

Plausible deniability: make something that sounds like a song about how flings are fun too, but in reality it’s a sarcastic song shading the attention-seeking types of celebs Harry has been linked to because of his forcible closeting.  The song is out there for everyone to listen to, but how many people will interpret it in a negative way?  Mission accomplished.

I’d assume that if Modest knew about what the song was about, they wouldn’t care because 1) It’s not obvious enough to be a problem, and 2) They can get the kind of dirty promo and no homo reassurance they love by dragging Haylor up again.

I’m not saying I 100% know that this is what happened, but it’s the only way the lyrics make sense to me.

A few people have asked me what I thought about ‘Haylor,’ and to be honest I don’t ship them what so ever. I do hope that they are on good terms, and according to the news from last night, it SEEMS like they are, and that’s good for them. I don’t ship them for several reasons, one, she did call him out at one of her performances of “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” imitating his British accent. Two, she wrote songs bashing him, why would I possibly want them back together after she humiliated him?

I mean Style is probably my favorite song on her new album but it was classy.

Also their break up must’ve been messy since Liam was still cold during her performance at the Victoria Secret fashion show.

Harry is a good person, and he hasn’t said one bad thing about her, so he might have forgiven her for what she’s said about him, and so have I but I still don’t want them back together.

This is just all my opinion though! I don’t ship them but I hope they can be friends, no one wants bad blood towards the boys anyways!

I hit post limit and it was sad, but then I was in the general one direction tag and the Haylor posts were scary.  I need some comfort food right now.
