I know I barely interact with the Plural community as a whole, but the anger I have when I heard about the raid from r/systemcringe is immeasurable

Can I get some of the main talking points of both sides? I think I lean pretty heavily into pro-endo, but it’s always good to get a little perspective

For this take, I asked my close confidante who have been active in both sides of the coin in Discord servers (me, personally, had a hard time blending in pro-endo ones. I had to get help from them to understand the other side) and asked their opinion. But take it with a grain of salt, and feel free to add in because one person's perspective isn't enough:

From a completely neutral perspective: there's a hard ideological clash between both sides because the two communities have fundamentally opposing priorities.

Pro endos want to create an extremely inclusive community of everyone who may fall under the definition of multiple identities, but anti endos largely want to build a community centered around traumagenic individuals because they have specific needs that the wider "plural" community either can't or won't fulfill, for inherent reasons. Here are my observations.

Pro endogenics want to create a "safer, loving" for all systems, but in their attempt to lump all plural identities, they can leave behind or even alienate traumagenic systems Why? Because they need to cater to everyone else while attempting to provide a space for OSDDID systems. I'm in both anti and pro spaces. I like system positivity and all, but I've also seen numerous traumagenic systems be forced to censor themselves, be unable to even imply disliking having headmates, because "it can hurt the feelings of others– those who willingly created their system."

It's like trying to have a one-size-fits-all mentality for all plurals. It doesn't work, and people with very sensitive, urgent, and unique needs such as OSDDID individuals won't fully benefit from a full inclusive community.

You can't deny that OSDDID individuals have radically different experiences of "plurality" than, say, Tulpamancers or willogenics. Without going into the syscourse of whether or not endos actually exist (that's not the point I'm trying to make here), they need specialized resources and deserve a dedicated community filled with individuals who have more similar experiences to them. And it's something that a endo-inclusive community, at its centre, will never be able to provide. Most "anti-endo" systems I've met are actually indifferent to the whole syscourse deal, they've just been lumped in with the antis because mixed-plural communities don't fulfill some need of theirs.

Not to mention the fact that many anti-endos feel that the direct comparison or addition of the endogenic community to the traumagenic community, which has a radically different approach to "multiple identities", is offensive or belittling of their lived traumatic experiences.

But some anti-endos have gone the deep end and instead of ignoring or avoiding plural communities they don't want to be in, they press or send hatred to those identifying as an endogenic for admittedly personal purposes. I don't agree with harrassment, period.

My take? Everyone leave each other the fuck alone. We should all stop harrassing each other endlessly, and learn something from fandom etiquette, pros and antis alike: 1) Block and move on. 2) Have civil debates and fact-check each other (including yourself!) 3) Let each other have their own communities, for God's sake. Separate exclusive communities isn't the end of the world.

Speaking of rolemodels, do you know what give me hope for myself?

(A personal vent. Tw: suicidal ideation)

For me, it was systems who are in their 30s, or 40s, 50s, hell, even older than that

I saw them, I heard their experience, and all I can think of is "I can live that long..?"

When I was around 14-15 years old, I told myself that I wouldn't live until my 20s. I was miserable, my memories were all a blur, and all I wanted was someone to tell me that I'm not okay and it's okay to be not okay for once

And when I turned 20, I don't know what to do. I don't know what I personally wanted, other than to become my family's expendable asset

I felt so lost, and I was slowly accepting that I have trauma. Psychologists were expensive, and those that were affordable dismissed my problems, even when I told them I was actively suicidal

But to see those older systems? Who were all also struggling like me in the past and thrived everyday? I want to follow their footsteps. To become someone that can live for a long time, to be happy
