The storm had raged for the better part of the day and it meant that very little of the castle residents were able to get out and do what they needed to do. Adam had called for all duties to be postponed as they laid to rest in the great warmth of his front room. There was no need for pomp and circumstance when half the castle staff could not feel their own fingers.
She seemed so shaken as she entered the castle doors. Adam was quick, calling upon a blanket for her, terrified for the thought that perhaps she had become frostbitten as a result of the bitter storm that raged outside. The doors slammed shut and he knelt beside her, draping her in the warm woollen fabric and staying close to her as she hid her hands from his eyes. “No need to thank me,” He reassured softly. “Come, come further in.” He darted around. “Perhaps prepare a hot bath?” He asked Plumette.
