don't yuck someone's yum (basic and classic for a reason)
shipping, blorbo opinions, videogame choices, etc. =/= an individual's morality
dead dove do not eat content is fine and good and not immoral
this one is probably contentious!!!! but honestly, if you're going to disagree with something, especially angrily, then vague instead of @'ing the person (in most cases)
if you're going to vague, try to not :) use the exact, specific terminology op used :) that's not even vaguing at that point you're signaling
(we're all people and sometimes we will feel strongly compelled to share our opinions about smth, or to disagree with smth that rubs us the wrong way. i don't think this is immoral. it's just... no need to yell at the person you disagree with when you can just make your own post about your pov)
don't diagnose every character you dislike with particularly loaded forms of neurodivergence (why do i see this so much. it's gross. stop it.)
post hate if you want, but know that you're going to hurt ppl's feelings. you just are. if that's smth you're okay with, then fine, but there will be a lot of ppl who aren't okay with you... which is also fine!
similarly, if all you post is critique, you're going to drive away a lot of the ppl who like the thing. that's your choice and prerogative and might even be the goal! just know that it will happen
ykinmkato (your kink is not my kink and that's okay) -> what it says on the tin! don't kinkshame. don't moralize
as a recommendation: if you have nothing nice or deep or interesting to say about a female character, maybe just don't talk about her. speaking as a fan of many beloathed female characters, i would much rather ppl shut up about them than say the absolute worst shit they can come up with :)
if you want to post critique and you want to use the main tag, do ppl a favor and also use the #x critical tags. sometimes ppl just want to look in the tag and not see 12 posts in a row tearing the thing apart and that's normal and fine
fandom is, ultimately, more sustainable if it's about sharing excitement. a fandom that is entirely built on critique will simply not last. so many ppl will be driven away bc they want to actually like the thing they like
