So Danny dodges the attempts to get him to pick a consort for a solid year. He's only 15 when he becomes King for Ancients sake.
Well, technically Crown Prince, but magically, he's considered king even without the official coronation.
Clockwork calls Danny and lets him know that if he doesn't have someone betrothed as his consort within the next year, the council will pick an appropriate consort.
Now Dan has been fully reformed and has taken up the hero identity of Phantom now that Danny's stepped back...
Danny also remembers the rumors that he and Phantom were dating...
