Today's Walking Photo: Let me state from the outset that I can’t blame you in the least if you feel this is a bit suspect – two days in a row now, I walk all over the neighborhood but at the end of my trek there’s no question that the best photo I got was taken right in my own yard. But it’s true! This time it was in the front yard, and the setting was our lovely weatherbeaten mailbox. As I grabbed today’s mail I spotted this tiny, tiny dot of red – I'm guessing maybe a very juvenile ladybug that has yet to develop any spots? Sorry there’s nothing here for scale, except at right, half of the large “U” in “U.S. MAIL” stamped on the mailbox door. So you’ll just have to take my word for it: this thing was leetle. Vurry leetle.
But check it out – you can see the trees and the late afternoon sun reflected in its back! I like that a lot.
