Jack laid peacefully on his back. His head resting on your stomach, facing the ceiling, eyes closed. The man all silent and sleepy, just as you are.
Your thighs sat over his shoulders and your one hand rested in his short silvery curls.
The bed’s messy. Pillows and blankets laying all over in a messy yet purposeful arrangement. The lights are off and the curtains closed. The only glow in the room is a small lamp, illuminating its warm glow. As well as the television across from the both of you.
The noise coming from it was simple to ignore. All of it slowly fading into the background.
Your focus stayed only on the sound of the older man’s heavy breathing.
Your head rests against the pillow beneath you, lazily staring at the screen before you gaze down at Jack.
Slowly, your hand moves to his hair, feeling through all of his curls: you feel as they shift and twirl, observing the dark and light shades of silver, slowly losing yourself in the softness of it all.
Your eyes eventually fall shut. Your hand remaining in the man’s hair, though its movements stilled. Everything around you slowly went quiet as your exhaustion took over.
