Sorry if i say this and anyone goes mad... I'm reading about a lot of elections in the world lately.But the difference beetween Democracy and Slavery is that on the first one u can choise your owner.

NO MORE DIFF. Stop vote. Stop belive in ideologies. Stop divide. Start big boikots toguether. Clean our sistem.

Vote for the candidate you like, or

Vote for the candidate you least hate, or

Cast a no vote if you hate both equally and don’t care who gets in.

Whatever you do,

VOTE!

There seems to be a lot of misunderstanding regarding voting.  So, here are some key points:

Voting is a democratic right

You do not have to vote, that’s your free choice

If you don’t vote, you can’t complain about who won,...

but you can complain about how s/he is fucking things up

The system is corrupt, this is done for two reasons,

To win (understand that we are not a democratic nation)

Disenfranchise people who will vote against the powers that be.

If you don’t vote because of this, then you are exactly where they want you, especially if you hate them.

If you do vote, then vote for the candidate you want.  (Please research the issues, there are some websites that work to achieve balance on presenting the candidates views.)

You can try to vote the current candidate out by voting for “the lesser of two evils.”  This is perfectly fine.

There is power in numbers, everyone tracks this.

When a large group of people do certain things, this catches the attention of the media and the party leadership.

Abstaining during a vote.  There are two ways

Showing up and not voting one way or the other

Not showing up

The results of both are different.

When you show up, that means you care enough to vote.

When you stay home, you may think you’re “sending a message” to the powers that be.  You are.  “I don’t care,” is the message they receive.  Nothing else.  Not voting is seen as apathy, nothing else, no matter what you think you’re saying.

Back to showing up.  It shows the establishment that you took the time to cast a vote and neither candidate got it.

They want your vote.  And they didn’t get it.

If you don’t like the current incumbent, then vote for the “other guy.”

If you don’t like either candidate, then don’t vote for either one, you can

Another option is “throw away your vote” by voting for a third party.  This also sends a message to the establishment.  If 4% of the people vote for a third party candidate and/or cast a “no vote,“ in essence abstaining, and the losers lost by 2% (not uncommon these days), they will look at what it will take to “win” your vote.  The winners will also take note.  If that 4% voted for the other party, they would have lost.  They will also look at what it will take to win your vote.  They do this all the time trying to get the “swing vote,” that other group of people who show up.

Are they going to stand up and take notice if @orwellsunderpants​ casts a “no vote”?  No.  You may be interested to know that the  Bush family didn’t vote Trump.  Does that mean they voted for Hillary?  No.  They cast a “no vote.”  Unlike you, they have a platform.  What does that leave you?

Presidential elections are not about how any single individual voted, they are about power in numbers.  If 4% vote third party/cast “No vote” the establishment takes notice.  They crunch the numbers (since we’re all statistics).  If millions vote and the total for all the candidates don’t add up, they will investigate when it becomes significant enough, the media will take note and the parties will as well.

If you stay home because “the system is corrupt,” “there’s no point,” “the election is rigged,” and/or “the candidate who spends the most buys the election,” you are already part of the statistics.  “We had a 58% voter turn out rate,” that means 42% of registered voters didn’t show up, and you would be one of them.  This is a “Non Vote.” It is different from a “No Vote.”  The corrupt winners that you hate will not care, they’re glad you didn’t show up to vote against them.  Certainly part of the stay-at-home-non-voter number are laws brought in to target minorities and make it hard for them to vote.

If you hate the incumbent and want to vote against them, or you want to try to prevent a candidate from getting in, then vote for “the lesser of two evils.”

The “No Vote” has significance, you showed up, and works best when you hate both candidates equally.  If enough people show up, like the Bush family, and didn’t vote for either candidate, it sends a message and collective voices have power.  The reason why I say to fill both is if you leave it blank, then some corrupt ballot counter will fill it in for you.

The other important thing is there are a lot of other elections going on as well.  State and Local elections, and other propositions and such, these impact you directly.   If you choose not to go, you have no say in these as well.  And there is power in one vote.  When I was living in Texas, one voter from a nearby county voted.  He was unaware of this until it showed up in the news.  One voter wielded all the power.  Other people in the county felt that it was wrong that this one voter had all that power.

Because everyone else stayed at home, they didn’t know, they thought the system was corrupt, they didn’t care, but they suddenly cared when one man decided everything for them.

By voting.
