"What do you want?" Whumpee spat as Whumper entered their room. The room where they were chained.

"It's been a year."

"So fucking what?"

"You've surprised me." Whumper's words hung in the air as a pause stretched between them. "I expected you to at least crack if not fully break by now. But you haven't."

"And I never fucking will."

"I'm beginning to believe you." Whumper spun the ring of keys on their finger as they approached Whumpee. "You're strong. Stronger than anyone else I've kept. And, as much as you may want to, I don't think you hate me."

Whumpee laughed incredulously. "You think I don't hate you? Wow you're a fucking idiot if you really believe I—"

"I think you're jealous of me."

Whumpee froze mid-sentence, caught off-guard. "... What?"

"I think you're jealous. I think you'd really like for us to switch places, but we both know that isn't going to happen... And I don't think that you want it out of hatred. I think you're a mirror image of myself." When Whumpee didn't answer, Whumper continued. "We can't switch places, but you can join me if you'd like. I'll unchain you and we can go pick someone new. Together."
