The Australian was a little hurried, rushing around the kitchen - he was helping out Yeol get the last of this order ready, while Mason was in the bathroom. At last the cook joined and he was ushered rather quickly out of the kitchen, a soft sigh of relief as he tied his apron back around his waist, checking everything was in his pockets as he approached his newly seated booth. "Apologies for the wai-" He was cut short as a whimper eased out of his lips, head titled back as he scrunched his face up in pain. His toe had made contact with the wood of the bench, trying not to let out a string of unsavory curse words in front of the customer. "Sorry just.....uh. Sorry. I'm Noah, what can I get started for you?"

Falling asleep on the library table is hardly his finest moment, but Noah’s been skating close to the edge recently, running on far too much coffee and not enough sleep as he tries to force his life into the shape he desired. He couldn’t exactly recall how that lead to spending his night awake as he talked to a graduate student in tokyo about the implications of his new battery design thesis, but he was almost certain it related somehow. It would come to him eventually. Probably. Once he woke up, that was, because at the moment he was mostly drifting, somewhere between completely asleep and actually awake, only dimly aware of the edge of the table digging into one of his ribs - until a hand clutched his shoulder. At that, Noah flew upright, blinking rapidly. “I’m awake! I’m awake, w need resolution seven nin-” He pasued for a moment, staring at the stack of books opposite him, before groaning, pinching the bridge of his nose briefly. “What time is it?”

plot: i need some angst so i’d love a plot where she wants a divorce but he’s not having it. (bonus point if they already have children)

As he was going towards the end of the lunch rush, Noah was focusing on plating when he heard the door open and he knew that it was not one of his employees, “If you’re not cooking or grabbing a plate, get out.” Right after he said that he heard the sound of paper hitting the counter and looked over to see the divorce papers, and his demeanor changed. He’d do a separation, he’d even take a break but she kept insisting on this, “Get that out of my face,” he said sliding it away and off the counter.

Pulling into the driveway Noah quickly moved to pull his son out of the backseat as he was still crying and distressed “Shh, daddy’s here,” he said trying to sooth the boy since he couldn’t talk and say how he was feeling much less understand what was currently happening. “You’re okay,” he said before walking to the front door where he knew his wife was waiting, “Honey?” he said as he opened the door.

Groaning as he hung up, Noah was tempted to just launch his phone through the window when the call finally ended, instead sending it sailing onto the bed. Which didn’t bring him quite the same joy that hearing glass shatter would have, but also meant he wouldn’t have to spend time replacing his phone that day, so it was probably for the better. He really should have known better than to pick up when he’d seen his mother calling, but here he was, with no way out of the art museum opening she’d all but ordered him to attend, and he just knew that she’d find some way to match make if he showed up alone. Which, considering what happened last year - yeah. That was a fate better left avoided. So, with a heavy sigh, he crossed the room to grab his discarded phone again, collapsing backwards on his bed as he typed out a message       Noah: Hey       Noah: I have to go to this art gallery opening next week       Noah: You should come with me       Noah: It’s black tie which means the food will actually be good       Noah: and probably at least one wine glass thrown when an affair gets discovered

Noah heard the knock at the door an quickly wrapped a towel round his waist, his hair still damp from the shower. “Hello?” he said as he opened the door to see who it was.

“Babe, you know I love it when you visit but you also know how I feel about you being in the kitchen and you’re not a chef.” He was dealing with current orders of salmon, lobster, and a medium rare steak, he was hoping the reason she came into the kitchen was important because when he was head chef he wasn’t as nice as he normally was when the white jacket was off.

plot: noah is a new restaurant owner who just moved into the apartment across from you and is a little short at the store. (i love a meet cute)

“um...i could get rid of the milk,” he said feeling bad that he’d been short when his total was thirty and he only had twenty five. “I’m sorry for holding you up,” he said with a heavy sigh as he looked at the person behind him in line.
