PHM fans please help me. it is probably explained in the book and i just forgot about it, but like. how do Eridians get their rock carapaces?!?

because rocks don’t just grow. they can’t just grow their own rocks cuz that’s not a thing. rocks have to be formed by geology… unless Eridian carapaces are not actually made of the same stuff as Earth rocks???

and at least according to fanon and probably to canon, each Eridian’s carapace has their own type of rocks, so they can’t just be rolling around on the ground picking up rocks that way right ?
