How much do you write a day? Do you have a set schedule?
I sorta do.
I try to write one sequence of a feature or one act of tv a week. Or, rather, around 15 pages a week.
Because of my general life schedule, this generally peters out to 3 days of writing, with about 5 pages each, before I get burned out. Though I can easily do up to 10 pages a day, but it’s difficult for me to do that over long periods of time.
The most I’ve ever written was 35 pages in one day. That was HELL.
What is the best internship an aspiring screenwriter should look for? I was looking at ICM? Is an internship at an agency not worth it if you dont want to be an agent
If you are an aspiring screenwriter, the BEST type of internship you can get is something reading scripts. Get a coverage internship.
Seriously.
It’ll show you what’s good, what’s bad, and what’s out there in the world. It will show you what the readers have to go through when you submit your script.
My internship as a script reader helped me so fucking much in my script writing, I can’t even begin to say.
As for the internship at the agency, that’s super useful too. Cause it shows you the BUSINESS side of things, and the knowledge of that is just awesome. And can only help you as a writer.
Hwo do you feel about film school?
I'm currently in school working on my BFA in Film & Television. If you think it's the route for you, then do it! I love studying academically when it comes to something I have a passion for. You get to meet a lot of talented people who have the same passion as you and you're open to equipment that would cost you a lot of money to buy. I don't think it matters where you go to school at. If you have the passion, endeavor, the talent, and commitment to making it, then I believe anyone can.

they gave me an $18,000 grant and then between federal loans and grants, the total FA was $31,000. So, it's at least more grants than loans at this point so I'm cool with it! I only have to come up with like, 4k out of pocket for tuition now. Rent is a different story but I'll be alright hahahhahah. I'M JUST SO RELIEVED.

"Currently you should log in to the admission portal at www.emerson.edu/admission/portal. We will be releasing your financial aid award sometime this week or beginning of next and it will be viewable in the admission portal. Please let me know if you are unable to log in there."
and yeah the W2 thing is what happened to me like, last week. The guy told me to just fax it over (the fax number is 617-824-8619) and they processed it within that same day, so it shouldn't set you back or anything
this is just such an annoying process and they should have let us know like, weeks ago about all this shit
