One thing i find really interesting is that at one point it was said that Zoan type divil fruits influence their users, wich would put more reason behind why luffy seems to liberate entire countrys for something as simple as a single bowl of rice. His devil fruit literally makes him a god, and a common offering for gods is food, so when people give him food and tell him about their problems he automatically wants to help them since they technically made an offering

ok so like what ive been thinking for this au is luffy is still kinda a pirate who wrecks ships from underwater and robs them and one of those ships is alvidas, who has been keeping this little fishman boy as a slave. he is NOT vibing with that so he beats the shit out of her. koby tells him how he wants to be a marine both to help people and to bring humans and fishmen closer together, lucky for him luffys (heavily human passing think like old lady kokoro) grandpa is high in the marines and has been really salty about wanting a marine sucsessor. thats how koby joins the navy and luffy keeps on ship wrecking (maybe collecting a human crew who he sets sail with) i feel like he would be freakishly good at manovering at land somehow

Koby doesn't really have a specific species, though one of my friends looked at him an screamed shark

Luffy is a Koi fish (the calico cats of water)

Headcanon that the bad taste varys from Devilfruit to Devilfruit.

So Luffys fruit tastes like straight up chewing erasers, Aces/Sabos tastes like so badly burned food you don't even know what it was previously, food based frietts just taste like it's rotten.

This wouldn't apply to every fruit since not all have a nessesarely bad taste equivalent but it's a fun idea

Headcanon that luffy was still really clingy when ace left but by the time they reunited luffy was still physically effectionet but not clingy anymore, but ace who has been coddled with affection since joining the Whitebeard pirates, is. Just imagine Ace acting like a hurt mother because his son (little brother) doesn't wanna hug (cling to him like a monkey) anymore.

Sick of yall pretending Luffy doesn't know about crushes, bro was making fun of Ace for slightly blushing at Makino like he's aware, he just doesn't care much. Tbh if he would end up getting a crush it would probably go one of two ways. Either he doesn't really change much and just gets physically closer to a person and just asks to date them, OR, the arguably way funnyer option of him getting really irritated and mad about it. Like he doesn't have time for thiiiiis. He has to become the Pirate King, so get your stupid cute face out of his head. Actively pissed at the person he has a crush on and just confusing them cause he's really angry but also complimenting them??

In the asl triplet AU

is ace still the only one who hates roger????

And does he still think he had tainted blood because he not only referring to himself but also luffy and sabo.

Ace definitely still resents his father, though the whole bad blood thing isn't really a thing in his mind because sabo and luffy also have this blood, so it can't be bad. He still gets into bar fights cause adults keep on saying how it IS bad blood and nobody gets to talk shit about his little brothers. But growing up with Sabo and Luffy from the start and being blood related definitely automatically removed a lot of the self-hatred. He's still an edgy shithead as a kid but far less self-loathing.

After all could Ace even turn out as depressed as he was if he grew up with somebody like Luffy from the start.

(Neither Sabo or Luffy hate their dad, Sabo is just kind of depressed over not having been able to grow up with both his parents like normal kids and Luffy never really showed much interest towards his dad other then becoming king of the pirates and wanting to see his execution spot)
