As far as being a lookout went, Vanja thought of himself as more of the type to stick out like a sore thumb in these sort of situations, normally. The way that he dressed and presented himself was usually effervescent, even if he wasn’t trying to gain attention. People naturally noticed things that were different, and Vanja Novak was about as different as it could get, for wizards. This night, however, his usual style and personality was toned back a bit to help him blend in with the crowd. They were supposed to be on the look out for anything suspicious, and it was better to be incognito if that were the case.
So, instead of dancing with strangers and getting caught up in the moment, Vanja attempted to chat with as many people as possible in hopes to gather information. Noticing one fellow off in the corner by himself, Vanja tipped his head to the side and assessed the situation. The quiet ones always tended to have a bit more to say, if anyone bothered to ask. Making his way over, he slid up casually by the younger man, giving him space, but also making it quite obvious he had come over with purpose. “Now what is someone like yourself doing sulked in a corner when there are festivities to be had?”
