🔹 In a jaw-dropping twist, former Pakistani PM Imran Khan has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize!
🔹 This unexpected move comes from the Pakistan World Alliance, backed by Norway's political party Partiet Sentrum.
🔹 Many are now questioning: Does he truly deserve it?
🧐𝐃𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐬:
- According to reports, Imran Khan has been nominated for the prize for his work on “human rights and democracy in Pakistan”.
- This is his second time being nominated for the award, the first being in 2019 for his efforts to promote peace in South Asia.
- Mind you, this is the same man who has been convicted on charges of selling state gifts, leaking state secrets, and a £190 million land corruption case!
- Moreover, Khan was no supporter of democracy or human rights.
- His tenure was highlighted by enforced disappearances, expulsion of NGOs, curbing press freedom, and a crackdown on the Pashtun rights movements!
- Moreover, his tenure saw rampant corruption, abuse of political power, and anti-corruption drives against the Opposition!
- Imran Khan’s 2018 democratic victory was also allegedly a case of electoral rigging!!
😲𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐲:
- The Nobel Peace Prize is known to have chosen some very controversial figures in the past.
- Former US Secretary of War Elihu Root, who brutally suppressed the Philippines’ independence movement and pressured Cuba and Puerto Rico, won in 1912!
- Former US Secretary of State Cordell Hull, known for refusing Jewish refugees on ships and forbidding US visas to Jews in 1940, won the prize in 1945!!
- In 1973 was called the worst award when Henry Kissinger, former US Secretary of State, known for promoting mass bombings in Vietnam and supporting the invasion of East Timor, won!
- Finally, Vladimir Putin, Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, and Benito Mussolini were once nominated for this “prestigious” prize!!!
