Steddie fics!!

I love when you put together rec lists, it's such a good way for me to discover fics in a pairing I either haven't read or haven't read in a while! 💜

yes!! i love making fic reclists—honestly, i don't see them all that often anymore bc basically everyone has access to ao3 or tumblr or whatever platform they get recs on, so it's easier to find fics? but i still remember when i was a kid first entering fandom and fics were spread across so many different websites and so fic reclists were always a GODSEND bc they helped you to find fics you never would have heard of, and that in turn usually introduced you to sites or authors you could dive into. so even though all the fics i rec are all hosted on ao3, i think reclists can still have a place to help others find fics that someone has curated. especially bc authors all have different quirks when it comes to tagging fics and so if someone is compiling a ilst of fics they've read and liked and feel strongly enough to rec, that can help others find new things!

like, steddie has over 30k fics on ao3, my reclist has about 70+ fics on it. they're all fics i've personally read—i've definitely read more! but these are the ones that i get to the end of and am like. damn. other people should be reading this!! i think it also helps that i tend to go through ao3 by word count, and while i definitely have a list of tags i filter out, otherwise i'm just scrolling and opening anything that looks interesting.

it's funny, i had negative interest in steddie when s4 came out. and for several years after. but i've always been a steve fan and over the years there have been a few times i've ventured into the stranger things tag to read some gen whump fics about him. and last year i got the itch for whatever reason, i went searching for a fic, and i found a s4 steddie time loop fic. i wanted to read about steve so i kind of shrugged my shoulders and gave it a shot. and then it was just SO compelling, that i felt the need to keep doing it. and then i became obsessed with them. until i finally had months of fics under my belt and i just wanted to shout about them to the roof tops!!

anyway. my whole point! i'm so glad you like the reclist!! i add to it every now and then bc i'm still reading their fics and discovering new gems. i hope if you go through the list, you discover some you come to love too.
