Morgause Legends verse 01 (heavily influenced by Lavinia Collins’ Arthurian book series): mv: i am shield to their swords FC: Meryem Uzerli
Background: Morgause is the eldest daughter of Goloris & Igraine of Tintagel. At the age of 11 her father was killed by Uther, who married her mother making her Queen of Camelot. In an effort to supposedly “protect” Morgause she arranged for her to be married to King Lot of Orkney, a man 30 years her elder. Her sister Morgan, being only 3 years old and also having a strong gift of magic in her blood was sent away to live in an abbey until her training would begin in Avalon. Morgause was jealous of her sister’s gifts and the protection that it offered her, but also thankful that she would be spared the fate that awaited her.
Verse: Lot is a cruel man, though Morgause has learned to counter his brutishness with her own tactics. While she cannot escape their marriage or, ultimately, his abuse, she will not allow him to break her spirit and play the role of obedient wife. Though their marriage has caused her nothing but pain and suffering there is one thing that has come out of it that she cherishes more then life itself: her 4 beautiful sons. Aggravain, Gawain, Gaheris, and Gareth.
She does her best to shield them from Lot’s abuses as best she can, though as with herself she is not always successful. She will make sure that they have all the happiness that she never did - and that they treat their wives better then Lot ever thought of treating her.
Traits: Protective (of her sons & Morgan) Boisterous Expressive Unabashed Hot-headed Brash

“I’d expect a little less recklessness from a knight of Camelot,” she mused, looking out to where the arrow came from. A while ago, before her meeting with Arthur, she’d have either killed Gwaine, or gotten information. But lucky for him she had had a change of heart, brought on by that exact meeting. Though it was not as if she could return to Camelot and beg for forgiveness. So she’d taken to lying low in the forest, until she could think of a way to make magic legal in Camelot without any more bloodshed. “There likely will be more, you know. So you should either pay more attention or leave Sir Gwaine,” Morgana warned him. With that she turned away from him to get ready to leave, which was also different. She wouldn’t have dared turn her back to one of Arthur’s knights before, but now she didn’t particularly care as much.
out.
I need to go die now since I stayed up all night last night finishing Collins’ Morgan series.

“Thank you Merlin” Gwaine managed to get out through clenched teeth, he was freezing and soaked to the bone a storm raging outside. He could have gone straight to the Knight’s rooms but he felt the urge to check in on Merlin, only to have the physicians apprentice fret over him. “I’m fine I promise”
“Of course,” Merlin replied, glancing out at the rain. It was falling hard and fast. He couldn’t remember the last time it had rained this hard or for this long. It was unusual and left him feeling off about the situation. Something was wrong. Something magical was afoot. As he pulled out a fresh nightshirt, he thought about the storm. Pouring a mug of steaming mead, he handed the shirt and the drink to Gwaine. “Here, drink up. You’ll feel better. Then change into this so your clothes can dry and you can get warm.”
New Years kiss
His offer of a new year’s eve midnight kiss has her laughing, but she tilted her head up toward him anyway. “You may kiss me if you wish.” She’s amused, not at him, but in that she would have anyone who want to give her a kiss under the circumstances. And when the clock struck midnight, he did kiss her, pressing a peck to her lips that left her blushing. A happy New Year, who knew what it would hold.
