Deruth: Every traumatized child can't be your kid!
Cale: *gasp*
Deruth: Cale I-
Cale, tearing up: How could you say that?

there's nothing more annoying than harry haters lol
seeing people talk about the rachel weisz having chemistry with herself show and having orphan black fandom war flashbacks
Okay but can Taylor please be absolutely determined to make a good little Thanksgiving dinner, so while J's at 'work' she wakes up, tidies the house. Gets all pretty, violet lacy dress and her hair done up as fancy as she can manage, cooks all day using recipes on Google and when J gets home he's thrilled. Makes sure to butter her up real good about how great it all looks, tells her she's the best little chef, and they both have a sudden moment of remembering when she was little and she 'cooked' for him? Her still trying to be a good little wife and serve him dinner, and it makes him fondly nostalgic. They eat and Taylor tells him all the things shes thankful for, starting with him, of course. Followed by sweet little things like her colored pencils and her stuffed otter and pretty weather and animals and he just keeps getting reminded of baby Taylor and how precious she was and still is. Then maybe after dinner he holds her on the couch, movie on in the background. They take a nap on the couch, sleepy from the turkey. Idk im sorry if it seems out of character I just loved that moment between them
Are you this same anon? If you are, I swear, it's like you have access to my computer or are reading my mind. I've written a scene so similar to what you've just described (minus the cute Thanksgiving stuff... even though I adore all of that). But, specifically him reminiscing about when she had played "house" with him when she was little and cooked for him... just last week I wrote that scene into our upcoming chapter eleven. I can't wait to share that bit. This chapter has a lot of Clockwork flashbacks -- particularly the Joker reminiscing on things that Taylor used to say or things she did as a little baby. Those scenes always melt my heart, aaaah. :')
But I ADORE your headcanon! I especially love the idea of them snuggled up on the couch in a post-Thanksgiving dinner haze, some Christmas movie playing in the background, maybe It's A Wonderful Life (remember that from Clockwork, too?!)
There's a candle burning on the coffee table next to the homemade apple pie that Taylor made -- they were eating it right out of the glass pan, and now only two crisscrossed forks and the half-eaten pie remain. She's snuggled up between his legs -- her preferred position -- laying on her side, her cheek on his chest, close to his heart.
Her eyes keep fluttering shut during the movie -- and Mr. J absently stroking her hair certainly isn't helping -- but she keeps jerking herself awake because she doesn't want to miss the movie. Plus, she's just so happy and content, and she doesn't want to miss a second of it by falling asleep.
She thinks she hears him chuckle the fourth time it happens, the way she jolts awake with a small gasp. All that food made her so sleepy -- but they still have to play the board games she found in the attics, and eat more pie and drink hot cocoa and then there's all the food to put away.
She startles a little when Mr. J shifts. Afraid he's going to get up, she suddenly clings to him with all her strength, wrapping all her limbs around him. She slides a little farther down as he shifts up, so her head rests on his abdomen, her arms wound around his lower back.
"Don't go," she murmurs.
You’re in luck friend, my LOST fixation has rolled back around and now I am an abc LOST monster.
Because I am constantly thinking about the second generation of LOST and specifically the four canonical children left behind by the main characters (not counting Walt but he can be there too) I was wondering what thoughts you may have about Aaron as an adult? Like, how did that whole parenting situation go post-island? What is he like as a grown up?
In my mind, Kate and Claire co-parent and tell him a lot about Charlie, and Aaron becomes pretty fascinated with him and tries to learn as much as he can about him. Maybe even gets into music a little, or is just generally a bit like Charlie? (In my mind, he tries to get into guitar and such but finds he has more of a talent for writing and art)
yes, i've thought about LOST The Next Generation a lot. added more to 'em too. because i generally tend to imagine things 15 years after the finale (2022... holy fuck. aaron would be 18 next year)
but yes, aaron littleton
his parents are claire and kate <3
he also has a brother/cousin,, brosin,,, david austen (son of jack and kate) who is around 3 years younger than aaron
best friends ji yeon kwon and charlie hume. friends with danielle hume too but she's more david's age. and aaron is much older than izzie and lara alpert-straume so they have more like cousin vibes. also has cousin vibes with megan pace (II) and clementine phillips
and good relationships with his various aunties and uncles, espech uncle sawyer, he loves him a lot
phew, see theres a lot
aaron looks like claire but boy (fuck you thomas) so he grows up to be a rather cute guy. he's also 5 foot 6. short king. omg i just realise that makes him the same height as mama kate aaah so cute!
pictured here: aaron littleton and charlie hume
it doesn't bother him that he's short either. none of those toxic masculine standards got into his head, no siree
doesn't believe in astrology as much as claire but he Knows his stuff and that he's a scorpio and he'll joke about it
favourite colour is red and he'll wear it a lot
personality wise, okay, as a base, he's like charlie but without the moodiness and entitlement. so like a really perky charlie who drinks respect women juice. he has charlie's interest in music and goofiness, is what im saying. he's bubbly like his mum (claire), he smiles a lot. he's the lovable goofball, most of the time
plays guitar, bass, drums and violin (he got into the last one because ji yeon started taking violin classes and he tagged along)
do i see aaron and ji yeon getting together one day? yeah probably. like when i picture them as teens or young adults i imagine they got crushes on each other, so yeah, when they get older, i can see that. if lost HAD a next gen continuation, they so would. and aaron, charlie (hume), and ji would so be the main characters
he has an american accent (they live in america) but uses australian turns of phrases too, it can sound a little jarring. refers to kate as mom, claire as mum. that didn't happen naturally tho, he does that on purpose. i think he could be confused for a canadian
was raised to believe charlie is his biological father and i go back and forth on whether he should find out otherwise. either way, charlie IS his dad as far as this family is concerned. aaron grew up hearing about charlie a lot and well, claire and kate are doing a "don't speak ill of the dead" thing here. and thats natural! but it resulted in aaron thinking of his dead dad as faultless. i imagine he has a hero worship thing for charlie going on. cuz he hears the stuff like how he was a hero, he was brave, he loved us so much, etc. all correct things, but that also means charlie is less a person to aaron than a Heroic Dad Figure. this could have it's ups and downs
but other than that aaron is pretty well adjusted. he grew up with two mothers who love him and a genuinely massive family because LOST has so many fucking characters even after you kill 2/3rds of 'em. he has lots friends, creative hobbies. this is a good lad
OH also due to the nature of LOST, aaron very casually believes in magic. his family has exploits on a magic island, one of his uncles hears dead people, another one is like 200 years old, his mom shot a smoke man and saved the world, etc and so forth. the LOST kids would grow up knowing magic is a real and they're pretty chill about it. tho they do learn not to mention that shit too openly
