Here's my question about your problem with the Lapis line: Why is it a problem for Lapis to imply that her pain is so much worse that Blue Diamonds, but it's not a problem for Blue Diamond to imply that her pain is so much worse than everybody elses' (minus Lapis)? Because it seems to me that you dislike Lapis for doing exactly what Blue Diamond is doing. I understand that personal pain isn't a contest, but Blue Diamond is the one who made it a literal contest.

she never implied her pain was worse? the line ‘You cannot fathom how much ive mourn’ points that she has no idea that others have suffered like she had- which is something that is common with her character- she never takes others’ feelings into consideration, especially beings that aren’t like her: humans and gems alike. And yes, that makes her an self absorbed asshole, but this is something we all can agree on. this, at least to me, is not at all similar to acknowledging one’s pain- and then completely disregarding it.

and again, she’s the ANTAGONIST. her acting like this is presented as a bad thing, as it should. Lapis’s line is presented as a moment of empowerment. my problem with this line comes from a meta POV- i have a problem with what it implies out of universe rather than in-universe. that’s why i don’t dislike lapis for this line, because i don’t blame this line on her character, it’s just kind of missed the point for me because i think the crew could’ve handled it better.

@awritersrejections I don’t think he actually did that specific one in the end, but the person with whom I’ve had horrifying food adventures is @mindareadsoots!  He doesn’t have a food tag at the moment, but if you ask around on the community Discord server people will help you fish up his various food adventures.
