Summary:
This was it. The day that would make or break you.
Genre: Fluff, comedy
Pairing: Jungkook X Reader (Y/N)
Warnings: Swearing
Word Count: 4982
Length: 29/?
You felt like throwing up. Results day had finally rolled around and you were a ball of nervous energy. Not to put any pressure on yourself or anything, but basically, your entire future as an English teacher in Korea rested on this one grade. You needed to pass in order to get into University.
The college cafeteria was bustling with people and as you pushed through the crowd, you were just able to see a fraction of a familiar face in the queue to collect her results. Chubs!
You hurried over to her, not caring about the people you rudely shoved out of your way. You needed her to be your anchor for the biggest day in your young adult life. Be it good or bad. Stumbling to a stop, you tapped her on the shoulder. She tore her gaze from her phone, eyes lighting up when she recognised you.
"Y/N! I was just about to text you. Have you got your results yet?"
You shook your head, "N-not yet. I j-j-just arrived."
Chubs frowned and put a hand on your shoulder, clearly concerned.
"Are you okay? You're stuttering"
"Anxiety"
She gave you a small smile and nodded to the queue of people collecting their results.
"Come on, let's get yours as quickly as possible and then we can open them outside where there's less people.”
The two of you joined the queue. Luckily it had been sectioned into chunks via lastnames which allowed the process of collection to go faster. You felt bile rise in your throat as you got closer to the front. This was it. This was the moment that would determine your future. Was it possible for the average heart rate to triple without dying? Because that's what it felt like for you as your palms began to sweat.
"No matter what," Chubs murmured from slightly behind you, "everything will be fine."
You gave her a meek nod but didn't believe her. It was fine for her. She was younger and had another year of college to get her shit together. You didn't.
You were passed your envelope and almost dropped it which amused the staff. You rushed off to the side, waiting for Chubs to join you. You didn't want to open it without her.
The buzz of the cafeteria grew louder as more people arrived. Chubs took your wrist and led you outside where it was both cooler and quieter, and so you were able to hear each other talk. You found a bench to sit on and turned to each other with a grimace.
"Here g-goes nothing. Good luck."
Chubs nodded and wished you luck in return. Shaky hands tore open the top of the envelope.
The two of you pulled out the sheet of paper simultaneously.
Unfolding it, your eyes bulged out of their sockets.
"Oh my god."
"Is that a good 'oh my god' or a bad 'oh my god'?" Chubs wondered, leaning forward in anticipation.
Tears formed in your eyes and spilt over onto your cheeks as you turned to her with a beaming smile.
"I got an A! I got a fucking A!"
You showed her your paper and she took one glance at it before throwing her arms around your neck with a cry of joy.
"I knew you could do it! You're going to uni, Y/N!"
"I'm going to uni..."
You couldn't believe it. You had to let Jungkook know. Shuffling next to Chubs, you held up your phone to take a selca with your results. You nudged Chubs so she knew what you were doing and she posed alongside you. You sent it to him knowing you wouldn't get a response straight away since it was early evening in Korea and he was probably having dinner.
So, you turned to Chubs, your grin still in place.
"And...how did you do?"
"I can continue on to the next year of my courses!"
You clapped your hands while wishing her congratulations.
She thanked you then stopped to point at your phone that was vibrating on the bench.
"Is that Jungkook?!"
You picked up your phone. It was! Jungkook was facetiming you over SNOW!
"Ah, fuck," You muttered, unlocking your phone with one hand while wiping away your remaining happy tears with your sleeve.
"NOONA! Chookhahaeyo (Congratulations)! I knew you would do great."
He was in a plain white top, grinning like an idiot.
"Thank you, BunBun!" You mirrored his smile, "I can't believe I got an A."
"We have to celebrate! How about after dinner?"
"Skype me when you're free."
"Will do," you watched his eyes shift to the side, "Are you with your friends?"
"Uh, yeah I'm with-"
You were cut off by Chubs who scooted closer to fit in the frame.
"Hi~ It is me, Chubs the captain of your ship." She saluted Jungkook.
He gave her a little wave and you noticed some movement beside him. Someone was trying to look over his shoulder. You managed to catch a glimpse of eye.
"Jimin-oppa?"
At the mention of the name, there was a gasp from beside you. Meanwhile, on the screen, Jungkook shuffled aside to allow Jimin into the frame fully.
"Hello, Y/N! Congratulations!"
"Wah~ Neoui yeong-eo sillyeog-i hyangsangdoego iss-eoyo oppa! (Wah~ You're English is improving oppa!)"
"Jungkookie give me books!" He grinned, hooking an arm around Jungkook's shoulder.
"And some of the worksheets we would do together when you first started tutoring me," Jungkook added.
"He might take your j-"
Jungkook shoved Jimin before he could finish, muttering something to him that was too quiet for his phone's mic to pick up.
"What was that, Oppa?" You wondered, purposely ignoring the way Jungkook shuddered at the honorific.
Jimin shook his head with a chuckle before leaning forward and pointing at the screen.
"Oh, friend. Hi, friend."
Chubs squeaked and shyly waved. She leaned over to you as Jimin said something to Jungkook.
"I think I'm going to die."
You laughed and playfully shoved her shoulder, "You'll be fine."
"I don't know how the fuck you're alive. I was pretty sure becoming Jungkook's girlfriend would have been your end," she said with a shake of her head then suddenly put on a smile as Jungkook and Jimin turned back to you two.
"I have to go now Jagiya but I'll skype you later okay?"
You nodded, "Bye, BunBun. Bye, Oppa."
Jimin waved, "Bye, Y/N and Y/N's friend!"
Jungkook blew a kiss before ending the call with a wink.
You locked your phone and turned to Chubs who was staring at you, mouth comically agape.
"What?"
"How did you survive your first skype call?"
You shrugged, "I didn't. I think I died and went to heaven."
She laughed and palmed her face, "I know I run your ship blog and all, but witnessing that was surreal."
"Really? That was pretty tame in comparison to how he normally is... maybe because there was an audience on either side..."
Chubs shrugged and gathered her belongings before getting to her feet, "Possibly. I think I'm probably starstruck. I didn't know who to look at, you and Jungkook or Park freaking Jimin."
You got up too, "Me? Why am I an option to look at?"
"I was waiting for you to blush at something Jungkook said so I could tease you about it."
"If you want to see me blushing, you should see how he acts when there isn't a plane journey between us."
She laughed, "You guys are cute. I am both happy for you and jealous of you."
You laughed before pulling her in for a hug.
"Thank you for helping him with his over-elaborate plan by the way."
"You're welcome. You deserve to be happy....and besides, I couldn't turn down an opportunity to tease you with MYTEEN."
You frowned and shoved her away.
"Yah! I'm loyal to my Kookie!"
She grinned, "I know, I'm just joking." You narrowed your eyes at her but her smile just widened, "Do you think you'll have time to celebrate your grade before Jungkook Skypes you?"
Your frown disappeared, replaced with a smile, "Sure."
"Pancakes?"
Your eyes lit up, "Pancakes."
You entered your small flat feeling full. One day you would finish a plate of those fucking pancakes, that's what you swore to yourself as you sprawled across your sofa face down.
Maybe you shouldn't have had the chocolate milkshake. Your stomach made an odd noise as you rolled onto your back. Yep. Next time, no milkshake.
Slipping your phone out of your pocket, you checked your messages to see Jungkook had sent you one on Kakao. Curse the cafe you went to for not having Wi-Fi.
'Noona~ Jagi~ Are you ready to Skype? I have a surprise for you that you might enjoy'
You couldn't help but smile. A surprise? For you?
'You're full of surprises. I'm just turning my laptop on, give me five minutes?'
Ignoring the way your tummy bubbled as you jumped up from the sofa, you went into your bedroom where your laptop was and booted it up. It really needed replacing, it had become so slow... but it had all your Jungkook fancams and fantaken photos... You sighed, running your fingers over the peeling tipex hangul on the keyboard and flicked away the pieces that flaked off. It would have to last. You desperately needed it for university.
The system finally booted and you logged into Skype. Jungkook was already logged on, and for the first time in forever, you were the one to call him. It only rang once before he answered with a bright smile and an excited wave.
"Congratulations, again, Noona! I'm so proud of you!"
Pride bloomed in your chest. A day that had a shaky beginning was turning out better than you'd ever expected.
But now that you were 'alone' with Jungkook one thing came to the forefront of your mind. The significant lack of time you'll have to spend with him once you started university. Especially with universities in the UK having a policy that stated that for every 1 contact hour you had, you had to do two hours of self-study. So if you had 12 hours of lessons a week, you had to spend 24 studying in your own time. So that was a 36 hour week in total.
"Y/N?" Jungkook called, pulling you from your thoughts. "Why do you look so sad? Did something happen?"
You really must've looked sad for Jungkook to use your name and not 'Noona'.
"I... I just realised exactly how busy I'll be once I start uni."
You felt guilty watching his smile fall. "Oh..."
"But~ If I did all my studying during the week, I could see you on the weekends."
He perked up, "If my other surprise goes as planned then- Oh wait. I can't tell you because that would ruin the surprise."
Curse him and all his surprises.
"BunBun~ When will I find out my surprise? It's been weeks!"
He chuckled, "Soon. Anyway, don't worry about your schedule just yet. We'll have to make the most of what time we have now."
You pouted and crossed your arms causing him to smirk.
"There is one surprise I can give you now though. Would you like to see?" He quirked a brow in a way that struck you as suggestive.
You sat back in your desk chair, face a mix of confusion and curiosity.
"Okay..."
He bit his lip as he considered what to say or do next. You really didn't know what went through his mind sometimes.
"I'm going to give you a little show..."
Was it just you or did that sound... lewd?
"Uhm...like a singing show...?" He shook his head. Your eyes widened slightly as your mind reeled with inappropriate thoughts. "...dance?"
"Wrong again Noona," A deep amused chuckle from him causing your mind to go further south, "I'm gonna give you a fashion show using the outfits for the new album's concept!"
A deep breath you didn't realise you were holding rushed out of your lungs. Oh, thank god.
"Isn't that breaking some kind of rule?!"
A cheeky grin appeared and his eyes sparkled with mischief, "Only if you post any of it online."
You promised you wouldn't. Not that you would have even if you were allowed. If your boyfriend was going to give you a fashion show you were going to keep that to yourself. ARMY didn't have to know everything.
"Mind if I change on camera?"
And apparently, you were getting an unintentional strip show as a bonus.
"N-n-no..."
He stood up then leaned forward to angle his laptop so you could see his wardrobe.
"Okay, as long as you're fine with it."
You nodded. "It's not like you haven't seen and helped me dress before..."
He nodded, "And you've seen me in just a towel so it's nothing you haven't seen before."
Your cheeks turned red at the memory. He went over to his wardrobe, opened the doors and stared at its contents for a minute before finally pulling out two suit carriers and laying them on the bed.
"I think I'll start with the more boring outfits and make my way up to the ones I think you'll like the most."
He reached up and grabbed the back of his t-shirt from the neck area, pulling the fabric off. You watched in fascination as his back muscles flexed.
Unzipping one of the suit carriers, he took out a white sleeveless basketball jersey which did wonders for his arms. He met your eye as he pulled it over his head and you gave him a thumbs up. He chuckled and turned back to his bed, taking a pair of light blue ripped jeans out of the other carrier. He laid them down on the bed, hands going towards the fastenings of his slacks before pausing, eyebrows drawing together. He turned his back to the camera, arms moving slightly as you heard a zipper go down. A relieved sigh came from him.
"You doing alright there?" You called out, not quite sure what he was doing.
He hummed then suddenly pushed his slacks down his legs and stepped out of them.
You bit down on your lips as he turned back to his bed and pulled on the jeans. A giggle slipped between your lips when he had to jump and wiggle into them. They sure were tight... He bent forward slightly to tug them up his thighs and you took a moment to admire how his boxer-briefs hugged his booty. Praise be to the Jungbooty.
He straightened up to fasten the zip and button. You thought he was done but he grabbed a blue letterman jacket from the bed and then finally turned to you.
"Whatcha think? Snazzy or what?"
You took in the outfit and the way the colours went together.
"I'm getting 90's boyband vibes from it."
"Technically we are a boyband... we just prefer to be called male idol groups."
"You look very handsome."
He grinned, "This morning I overheard the stylist Noonas taking and I think they're going down the parted hair route for me. So I'm sure you'll like that." He winked and you did your best not to do something stupid and screech. That outfit plus parted hair...well. You cleared your throat to try and take your mind off those thoughts.
"Y-you'll be a show stopper for sure then."
His smug smirk reappeared, "Aren't I always?" He said with a chuckle, beginning to undress again.
You laughed, "My eyes never leave you on stage."
"I should hope they don't. I am your bias and boyfriend."
He put the jacket and jersey back in their carriers, keeping the jeans on as he hung it back up and pulled out another.
He peeked inside the bag and smiled, "Ah, I like this one. It's roomy."
Roomy? Could he have mixed up his English? Did he really mean baggy? Because how could clothes be room- Oh. The heat in your cheeks that had finally died flared back to life. And while you had been distracted Jungkook had decided to take off his jeans before putting on the next outfit.
Your eyes trailed over his form from the bulging of his biceps, as he pulled on a white hooded top, to the...snugness of his underwear. You smirked. All that was yours.
For bottoms, he had a white pair of baggy sweatpants and to complete the look, a red cap.
"Aw~ That outfit is kinda cute. Especially with your fringe making you look rather boyish."
He did the flower pose, a few giggles bubbling up as he did so.
"This one is comfortable to dance in too." He said, jumping into a few lazy moves from Bapsae since he wasn't allowed to show you any new choreography.
"Adorable, Kookie. I like all the bright colours so far. Do you have more to show me?"
He threw the cap on the bed and pulled the hoodie over his head.
"Two more outfits. The next one is my favourite but I think the last one will be yours."
That made you curious, "Oh really? Why?"
"Because I saw the posters and pictures in your room."
He pushed down the sweatpants and stepped out of them. Meanwhile, you were a little confused, you had a lot of pictures and posters in your room but none had a specific outfit. You were about to turn and look over your shoulder at the posters behind you when Jungkook threw the next outfit on the bed. Not wanting to miss a second of this little 'show', you forgot about the posters and focused on the fact he was pulling out a white t-shirt.
"Ah, so that's why it's your favourite."
He shot you a glare.
"Yah! Don't judge! This outfit is actually really cool!"
You shrugged, "It's hard to take you seriously when you're just in your underwear."
He grabbed a pair of combat trousers and stepped into them, turning to you as he pulled them up.
"Is it distracting?"
You scoffed, "You wish."
He chuckled while shoving his arms through the sleeves of a bomber jacket. His hands came up to ruffle his hair to make it appear messier, you guessed it was essential to the look.
"Oooh~ Rebellious. I have but one question."
"Shoot."
"Do any of these outfits have shoes that go with them? Because I can see you wearing Timbs with that one."
He held out a hand as if telling you to wait and went over to his wardrobe, rummaging around on the floor before holding up a large white box. You noticed the signature Timberland logo and started to laugh.
"Oh my god. Was I right? You wear Timbs with this outfit?!"
"No, but now that you mentioned it I thought we could see what they look like with my new pair."
You continued to giggle, "You have a new pair?"
He shrugged. "I wanted black ones."
He sat on the foot of his bed and put them on, standing back so you could see the full outfit. You had to admit, the bomber jacket combined with the combat trousers and Timberlands did look pretty good.
"Okay, now that you have shoes on, I can say that looks badass."
His lips quirked into a smirk.
"Wait 'til you hear the song, Jagi. It's so awesome."
"I'm getting rap vibes...but don't tell me if I'm right! I don't want spoilers!"
He nodded and started stripping again, "Time for the final outfit."
You sat forward in anticipation, shamelessly ogling him as he put the previous outfit away and took out the last carrier.
The first item was red long sleeve shirt. He shrugged it on and came forward as he buttoned it up.
"Did you celebrate with Chubs earlier? Is that why you were slow replying to my message?"
You hummed in affirmative, eyes drifting to his toned stomach that was slowly being covered. He let out an amused huff, shaking his head.
"Maybe these little shows should be rewards for good grades."
A reward? That sounded kinda... maybe you had been reading too much fanfiction... or writing too much. Maybe it was the research into the fic you were working on that made your mind less than innocent over the past couple of days.
"I-I-I'm not a child! I d-don't need a reward system to encourage me to do well."
With his shirt fully buttoned, he went back to the bed and picked up a pair of...oh god. Oh fuck. Really? Leather. Pants.
"So, you're saying this wouldn't encourage you?"
"Uh..." Your mind went blank as you made the connection between your posters and the outfit. A shirt in one of your favourite colours and insanely tight pants.
"Gotcha~" Again with the cocky smirk! But likely it was soon replaced with a grimace, "My underwear is gonna bunch up in these, I can tell already."
You felt your face heat up, "So, y-you do g-go c-c-commando?!"
He bent over, coercing the tight material over his calves and giving you a lovely view of his peachy backside.
"Of course I do. Because the crotch is so tight it's super uncomfortable and irritating when dancing on stage."
You were pretty sure you had turned into a tomato. A human tomato.
"But doesn't that chafe?!" Your voice went awkwardly high as you spoke.
He grunted as he hiked the pants over his knees and up his thighs. You shifted in your seat and forced yourself to look at his face. But that was no better; he was biting his lip which made your stomach drop.
"Um, it depends on the whole...positioning of my...you know..."
Oh god. Nope. You didn't want to think about that. No siree. Pure thoughts. You needed to think pure thoughts. Like kittens.
"Kitten, are you alright? You seem distracted."
Fuck. Maybe not kittens.
"Jagi?"
A cute pet name. Honey! Ah, yes. The cute little golden kitten...oh fuck it. Why did he have to pick that as your nickname?
You cupped your cheeks in your hands, hoping their coolness would stop your cheeks from burning.
"You're just too handsome. I got lost in a daydream."
He gave you an unreadable look, tongue snaking out to sweep across his bottom lip before focusing back on getting the skin tight material on, once again doing little jumps to help them slide up his thick muscular thighs. Okay, so you really couldn't be mad at Jungkook for the way he eyed up your cleavage during the dinner date anymore. You were just as bad. And deep down you knew the top you wore was see-through. He was a guy. He was going to look at your bra.
A deep groan shocked you once again back into reality. He had finally got the pants on, but his face was screwed up in discomfort.
"Take a good look, Noona. I can't stay in these pants for long with underwear on."
You couldn’t help yourself, your finger automatically found the printscreen button.
"Holy fuck you look good. Like shit. I would pay to see you in that for a whole day."
He seemed to choke on his spit, coughs taking over his body as he slapped a hand on his chest.
"P-p-pay me?! I'm your boyfriend! All you have to do is ask and I'll dress like this for you anytime."
"But wouldn't you have to loan it from the costume department? So I'd bribe the stylist Unnies to let you borrow it."
He laughed, "Noona, I have enough money to buy my own version of this outfit if I want."
You giggled when an idea came to mind. It wouldn't be too much to ask him to maybe buy himself a pair of those pants...would it?
His mind seemed to have wandered down the same path as his next words were, "I'll get the stylist Noonas to order me another pair to keep." He quirked a brow, smirk firmly in place. “Would that make you happy?"
"Uuuh..."
He untucked the baggy red shirt and started to unbutton it from the top down. You felt your throat go dry as more of his chest became exposed while wearing the leather pants. Was he being a little shit on purpose? Or was this striptease accidental? You didn't know but you would appreciate the view while it lasted, wishing you had set up your screen recorder. Ah, you definitely needed a cold shower after the call was over.
He chuckled, "So, that was everything- your reward I guess. How does that make you feel about the comeback?"
The comeback. Oh, yes. That's exactly what the outfits were for. You'd managed to forget amongst the stripping and the talking of underwear...
"I-it's a comeback with a very mixed style. There's stylish yet casual, kinda sporty, badass and... uh..."
"Sexy?"
Yes, exactly that but you didn't want to say it out loud. Instead, you nodded, teeth nibbling your bottom lip.
"That's pretty much the vibe of the album. I think everyone will like it."
"They will," you mumbled, daring yourself not to look down as he undid his pants.
He had the decency to turn away from the webcam as he pulled them down so you didn't get an eye full of crotch.
While he undressed, you stole a glance at the dual clock on your phone and sighed at the late hour it was in Korea.
"You should get ready for bed, BunBun. I'll sing you to sleep again."
He turned to you, undone shirt still on but now only his underwear covering his lower half.
"Sure, hope you don't mind if I just get in in my undies. If I wore more I'd just end up stripping in my sleep like usual."
You chuckled, "I still can't believe that's your habit. For most guys, it's leaving the toilet seat up or not making their bed. But no, you just have to strip in your sleep don't you?"
He laughed as he picked up his laptop and went over to turn the lights off. "I do all those other things too, Noona. The stripping is an added extra."
He had the audacity to send you a wink before settling into his bed and shrugging off the shirt.
"Aren't I lucky?" You mumbled, half of you pretending to be annoyed about the stripping and the other half genuinely confessing how special you felt knowing Jungkook was yours.
"I really am proud of you, Y/N. You managed to study for your exam, work a job and still find time to Skype and teach me." His lips spread into a cute little smile that made your heart soar, "I really admire you."
"It's no different to you graduating from highschool even though you were on a busy idol schedule, making music, appearing on shows, going on tour and all that."
He shifted, his dark hair splaying out on the pillow like a halo.
"I know...but I had 6 brothers to help me study and make time. You live alone..."
You shrugged, it wasn't that big of a deal to you. Your workplace had been understanding when you said you couldn't work certain days because you needed to study, and so you used most of your free days to Skype him. Everything worked out in the end.
"I'm going to have to work my ass off during the holidays to have enough money for uni. I mean I'd have my student loan but I'd like a money safety net."
"Please don't. I like your butt being attached to you."
You burst out into laughter. "Me too, Kookie. But I need money for food and food to survive."
He chuckled and you noticed how his voice was pitched lower as tiredness was slowly taking over his body.
"I hope you'll like your surprise and you won't be too mad at me."
"Why would I be mad?"
"Cause you always..." He was cut off by a yawn, "get mad when I spend a lot of money on you."
Your jaw dropped, "You spent a lot of money on me?! Kookie~"
"That's exactly what I mean." His eyes fluttered and he mustered a smile, "Don't be mad at me. I promise a lot more love when into this surprise than money."
You gave him a suspicious look, "It's not another over-elaborate plan is it?"
"...Maybe... could you sing me to sleep now, Noona? I don't want to have nightmares."
"Close your eyes." He did as you asked and you couldn't resist taking another screenshot. He was so adorable.
"I love you so much, Noona. Please don't hate me."
You sighed, "I'll never ever hate you. I love you lots too."
"Good." He said as he rubbed his eyes, reminding you of a small child.
"Any song requests?"
His face scrunched up in concentration briefly as he thought of a song choice.
"I recently watched Cinderella the original Disney animation. Could you sing 'A Dream Is A Wish'?"
You smiled brightly, it was a song you had once done for a singing exam.
"Of course."
He snuggled deeper into the covers, clutching them close to his chest.
"I'll dream of you." Were his last words before he fell silent and you began to sing.
Your heart was aching in your chest like it did most nights when you sang Jungkook to sleep. The things you would do to be there by his side...
Once his light snores started you slowly stopped singing. You ran a hand through your hair and sighed. That boy was going to be the death of you with how he made you switch moods in an instant. But you still needed that cold shower.
