Here's how the beginnings of capitalism looked like in Romania, as I remember it. This was around year 2000. 🍒 A friend of mine asks me if I'd go shopping for jeans with her. No. Must study. Test tomorrow. Ok. She goes alone. She comes to me an hour later in tears. ME: What happened? Did someone die? MY FRIEND: I told you I went to buy myself jeans. There's this new store and I wanted to check it out. It looks very nice, like in movies. There are shelves and the clothes are arranged nicely in the shelves. It's very pretty. So I went in and picked up a pair of jeans from a shelf, and the clerk, this mean looking guy, starts yelling at me: Don't touch anything! You're going to make a mess of the display. And I said: But I want to buy a pair of jeans. How am I supposed to buy them if I can't look at them? And the guy says: Get out! If you don't get out, I'll call the police. Suffice it to say, my friend was very upset. She felt like this guy treated her like a thief. MY FRIEND says: This can't be allowed. I can't be treated like this. There has to be some kind of consumer protection office where I can go and complain. ME: Consumer protection? Really? There's such a thing? MY FRIEND: I don't know. My sister worked on a cruise ship and she told me they have things like that in normal countries. Come with me and let's find it. I don't want to go alone. ME: Ok. But you know there's no such place. So we went around town, and searched, and found a building that said something on it - I don't remember what, frankly, but my friend thought that could be it. So we waited in front of the building to see who goes in and out - some middle-aged women who looked like they had problems of their own. MY FRIEND: Do you think anyone will care even if I complain? Can somebody help me overstand how I can get banned from a #Hotel for requesting a #DoubleBed instead of one #KingSize bed 5 days after I checked out and was just checking into the same hotel that I stayed at for a month, especially when I booked the same way & requested a double bed the same way without any issue the 1st time??? 🤔🤔 • • Upon my arrival to check in at the Days Inn (1730 East Higgins, Road #Schaumburg IL), I asked the front desk attendant Rimona if I could have a Double Bed which leads to her giving me attitude. Then I speak with the General Manager, Mike Patel who ultimately apologized for Rimona's behavior but still treated me as if I were trying to get a bargain as opposed to getting the same treatment that I just previously received at his hotel the month I stayed just stayed there. He even asked if I wanted a refund, I said yes, however upon awaiting for my refund, Mike tells Rimona to give me a double, then turns and ask me "Are you happy now?" to which I reply "Yes" & then Mike says "Good, Do you me a favor, Never Book At This Hotel Again" Wowwwww 😲😲 #theRASTApreneur #NoCustomerService (at Days Inn)

Talk about lack of service! I complete my shopping at Sam's Club. No problems until I went to go get a soda. I always check the soda before I get my ice and this is the perfect example why, they were out of diet Pepsi (this way I didn't have to dump my ice). I tell a lady at the concessions that they need a new diet Pepsi. She said, "We'll have to change it out." Ok, no problem. I knew I wasn't the only customer so I patiently wait for her to come out and change it out. She pulled out some pizzas, put some dishes in the sink, chatted with someone. Now I'm getting frustrated! Next, she takes off her apron! Wth! It gets better (inserting sarcasm). She gets herself an Icee. Umm, what about me a paying regular customer? Crickets......... She grabs her personal Icee and goes into the back room of the concessions and doesn't cone out. Really!?! By this point I'm pissed! I go to the little podium where the store managers usually are located. I asked the lady standing there if she was a manager. She replied, "No but I'm a supervisor. Can I help you?" I explained the situation. She walks with me to concessions. The woman I dealt with, short, overweight, between late 20s to early 30s, long straight brown hair, Caucasian, was still in the back room. The supervisor talked to another concessions person who told her they were out of diet Pepsi. Seriously!?! I told her, "So she made me stand here waiting for her for 5 minutes for no reason? I use to work in retail and the restaurant business. Custumer service is the number one priority!" She agreed with me. Hmmm, I might have believed her if she made the concessions lady come out and apologize to me. Crickets...............
