I was a single working mom While I was pregnant the father of my son and I split up. It was my decision, because I did not see any future together. Being a single working mom made me strong, even sometimes it was a chaos. I could not afford a nanny, an expensive kindergarten or a preschool. Fortunately, I had my parents who helped. I had the strong will not to fail as a solo parent and to raise up a happy, well-behaved, strong and resourceful person and above all I always supported the dreams and skills of my son. You have to work out all problems on your own in finding solutions and the more solutions I found for my child and myself the happier I became. Nevertheless, I had to face a lot of unhappy and difficult situations and I had to distant from friends, because they did not fit in my life anymore. And yes, there were times I was not happy, sad, tired and there were times, I did not know how to go on. And yes, I made a lot of mistakes, but I worked on them, because I always reminded myself that I am responsible, not only for myself, but also for my son. This sense of responsibility was helping me to grow as a mother. When I look back, I have to admit that I was a happy single parent and I am proud of my son.
