The classic elements and materials used in the construction of transient circus structures were the jumping off point for this project. Colourful tents and portals and the geometric figures left over from their manufacture were some of the resources used to strikingly transform the space.

MONZÓ ARTS SANTA MÒNICA

This installation featured two principal areas that could be walked through. The first focused on biographical information and was divided into three stages: counterculture, the 1980's and the world after 1992. The second principal area featured scenes that represented 10 recurring themes in the work of Monzó. At the end of the second area, all of the author's novels were presented in a large, vertical display.

In order to maximise the limited space of the exhibition hall, the display was conceived as a single, long cabinet which curled inwards, maximising its capacity. The striking shape of the display cabinet as well as a backlit ceiling of stretched fabric completely transformed the original room.
