Songs on his iPod: yamada is EVERYWHERE. he goes from jazz to rock to pop in a span of few songs. i added the ones he jams to the most that gears him up for long days! supermassive black hole - muse innocent arrogance - BiSH bling-bang-bang-born - creepy nuts can't hug every cat remix - the gregory brothers and cara hartmann

The one place they fall asleep – where they’re not supposed to: he often falls asleep in the teacher's lounge. having three jobs is demanding, okay! its a problem though, bcos it's always during lunch, where students come by to borrow keys to classrooms/clubrooms and advice for english midterms, so the door's open. more students than he can count has pictures of him leaned back in his desk chair, with his mouth open, quirk accidentally activated as he snores. aizawa sometimes uses his quirk instead of waking him up, because he knows how much he overworks himself.

he thinks it's UNBELIEVABLE that his precious students are more interested in him sleeping where he shouldn't than his colleauge and friend, aizawa. aizawa argues his gimmick of sleeping at every given opportunity is old news to everyone. however, the lively teacher? more exciting.

The game they’d destroy everyone else at: with his lips scrunched up towards his nose and a heavy air of concentration around him, he will turn ANYONE to dust that challenges him in J-star victory VS. it doesnt even matter which character he plays as or against, he will end you.

The emoticon they’d use most often: 🏎 he uses it to relay that he's on his way wherever (to work, plans, etc) to colleagues and friends. he thinks his beat-down car really is a race car.

What they act like when they haven’t had enough sleep: even more energetic, which no one thinks possible. he never really gets enough sleep, so that's just his baseline, actually.

Their preferred hot beverage on really cold nights or mornings: caramel latte. he needs the sugar on top of the caffeine.

How they like to comfort/care for themselves in a slump: hes a bad boy, because he doesn't. he just pushes on, ignoring all the warning signs until he absolutely crashes and burns. then, hes in the dumps for a week or so, his friends and you bringing him food and support. then he bounces back, pretending it never happened. one day, you'll get properly through to him.

What they wanted to be when they grew up: formula 1 driver. hence, the type of car

Their favorite kind of weather: storms! typhoons, especially. if his ma' asks, hes OF COURSE never went outside during one!!!!

Thoughts on their singing voice: he sings like an absolute angel. he's able to do falsetto gorgeously too, and getting him to sing lullabies before bed is like a heavenly blessing bestowed upon you, and always guarantees the perfect sleep.

How/what they like to draw or doodle: EVERYTHING. he draws cats, stars, random shapes, whatever theres in the room with him (windows/curtains, chairs, chalkboards). hes quite a doodle artist

Songs on his iPod: i think despite his tough-no-feelings demeanor, he really does like songs where the lyrics resonate with him, or put words into feelings he can't articulate well himself. its NOT emo or angsty tho, claims the angsty emo.

The one place they fall asleep – where they’re not supposed to: kanda's very reserved with rest. its only in his bedroom with a locked door unless you or alma are there. its too vulnerable and private if not. he fell asleep in a cafe with you once, which was silly, but he'd been overworking himself and your shoulder was right there

The game they’d destroy everyone else at: im so sorry, but kanda's entire personality in regards to video games is just: skill issue. he doesn't wanna waste his time learning how to fight in a dumb game when he can just as easily cut your throat irl no problem. though if ever convinced, hes flexible enough to beat everyone at twister

What they act like when they haven’t had enough sleep: he's actually kinder, somehow. not like, allen's mask polite, but he's less bite-y and easy to anger. his baseline is too little sleep generally, but when he goes beyond even that limit, hes too sleepy to fight about every little thing, which translates as sudden kindness.

Their preferred hot beverage on really cold nights or mornings: green tea, always

How they like to comfort/care for themselves in a slump: kanda likes to throw his head aggressively onto your lap and lie there with a scowl until you coax his problem out through his grunts. you ask questions and when you've figured it out, you help him process it

What they wanted to be when they grew up: he thought itd be punk-rock to own his own store. he didnt know what it entailed, but once he was in a independent store with tiedoll and he explained why it wasnt like [insert chain] and when kanda said, "so, basically you're your own boss completely?" and tiedoll nodded he thought.. fuck yea. but what? what type of store, you ask? fuck if he knows or cares

Their favorite kind of weather: summer blue skies with those big, cumulonimbus clouds!

Thoughts on their singing voice: he can sing, and he's good at it, too. he's only shown it once, to prove to allen that "singing's not that hard, dumbass. anyone can do it." he's well aware not everyone can, but he liked gloating when he pulled out an angelic deep timbre in front of the friend group. if he sometimes randomly starts smiling menacingly, just know he's thinking of that memory

How/what they like to draw or doodle: hes the type to just write words in cool fonts or styles. especially swear words LMAO

The one place they fall asleep – where they’re not supposed to: ooooh kenma definitely has a terrible habit of doing this as a general quirk of his. IF and only IF there are people he is safe and comfortable around (you, his team, family, hinata) he won't have ANY qualms about snoozing for a second if there's a moment that calls for it. most chaotic moment was during his own hospital visit. he'd hosted a 48-hour livestream and passed the hell out because of course he also didnt eat properly during. the doctor popped out for a moment to check something from a chart, and when he came back, kenma was asleep. it worried the doctor to no end for a second, before he realized the cat-like barely-adult-adult was simply snoozing. you and kuroo apologizes profusely, but the doctor chalks it down to the weird thing he was doing online before he came. assigns rest as medication.

The game they’d destroy everyone else at: there's no doubt that kenma's a class A gamer in every game to exist. the most infuriating one - the one that kuroo HATES that he always wins - is ludo. its a game that runs on pure chance half the time, yet kenma's never lost a single game, not to you or anyone else. hinata's little sister came close one time, though. that made kenma's brow sweat a little.

The emoticon they’d use most often: 👍. its easy during streams, its easy if hes sleepy, its easy if hes busy. it confirms whatever people want from him in a second.

What they act like when they haven’t had enough sleep: practically non-verbal. eyes squinted and barely able to do things required of him. he gropes and grabs at random stuff in his cabinet or fridge to find something edible and his phone is all up in his face. you mostly talk aloud to yourself during those times.

Their preferred hot beverage on really cold nights or mornings: kenma doesn't advertise it a lot, but he loves a good, warm bubble tea with tapioca. it has to be a black tea or he isn't having it.

How they like to comfort/care for themselves in a slump: kenma calls kuroo. slumps are his arch nemesis, the boss battle he cannot handle alone. so back up and support characters are needed.

What they wanted to be when they grew up: im pretty sure kenma achieved exactly what he dreamt of: freedom to play his beloved video games in the capacity that he does.

Their favorite kind of weather: overcast, but not humid or rainy. it's a perfectly acceptable day to stay indoors.

Thoughts on their singing voice: i think kenma is a very nice tenor, but he doesnt have the confidence or skills to really sing from his stomach, so it comes out shallow and off.

How/what they like to draw or doodle: he likes to doodle weapons from his games. the master sword from legend of zelda, cloud's buster sword, and the keyblades from kingdom hearts. it's all a cute, non-detailed chibi style tho, only marking what makes the sword stand out. mostly, hes the only one who can name them all if hes sitting thru a long enough meeting to draw multiple.

Songs on his iPod: daichi's sappy.... he wont admit it, but love pop songs always makes his head clear if hes grumpy.

The one place they fall asleep – where they’re not supposed to: oh, daichi learned his lesson first year in high school to be careful where he rests. there's people around him not to be trusted..... but one time, and its one time only and he will take this information to the grave, he had a night shift at the local police box he was stationed in and he. he fell asleep!! gasp!! it was barely for four minutes, but he's still riddled with shame to this day, even tho it was during his grunt days. not even sugawara knows.

The game they’d destroy everyone else at: daichi's competitive for sure, but sadly, its more bark than bite in actual practice. HOWEVER, there is ONE and i mean ONE mini-game in super mario party for the switch that he decimates ANYONE in. even kenma!!!! its sizzling stakes!

The emoticon they’d use most often: 🙃. he doesnt know its passive aggressive. he thinks its a quirky smile. no one dares tell him

What they act like when they haven’t had enough sleep: he rarely ever goes without his sleep. he knows how important it is to keep up with his physical and mental health and after the grueling study days back when he was younger, he cares even more. he needs to be alert at all times when he's at work, so he's a proud 9pm sleeper. there are times, however, where overtime and cases makes him slip. he is very unpleasant

Their preferred hot beverage on really cold nights or mornings: daichi likes his coffee extremely hot and rather bitter. he says it warms him up even more? freak

How they like to comfort/care for themselves in a slump: he cares very much for his routines and are well-aware what they do for him. so whenever he hits a wall or a slump, he re-evaluates everything in his daily and weekly affairs. when he realizes he's been neglecting social stuff like seeing friends over a beer, he rectifies it pretty fast. if hes REALLY stuck, he will find support in the people around him by ranting and venting out all his thoughts and frustrations. it can take a whole evening if hes frustrated enough, as he likes to circle around the subject multiple times, to really cement his feelings and process them.

What they wanted to be when they grew up: definitely a ramen cook when he was tiny. whenever his parents took him out for ramen as a treat, his starstruck eyes would observe everything the chef did, and ask enough questions to tire out a patient man. however, his local ramen joint always loved his visits, and often gave him tips on how to improve his food in small ways at home, too. the hobby didn't really stick though, but the tips are still used to this day.

Their favorite kind of weather: sunny, but windy. a day where you can go for a run and not overheat because the wind helps regulate your temperature. it's a good day for a date sightseeing a shrine or climb a mountain together.

Thoughts on their singing voice: daichi wants to sing deep inside. his deep, delicious voice also invites you to think his deep timbre would be soothing. but he's tone deaf, so it comes out flat and scratchy.

How/what they like to draw or doodle: daichi draws birds to pass the time. fat, round birds like dera from tamako market. theyre not realistic, but they ARE cute!

Who do you think has the most sensitive tummy? Kuroo, Komori or Shinsou and how do they deal with it? Being honest or faking it?

THIS HAS BEEN ROTATING IN MY MIND SINCE RECEIVING THIS ASK AND IVE STRUGGLED WITH HOW TO REPLY (all the options were just sooooo good!!!) i think these three are on either side of the spectrum actually

but for some reason im betting komori has the most sensitive tummy. i dont have a scientific reason for that, i just think he reacts to a lot of things. asked him to get checked for ibs but i think he may fear the test results so hes putting it off!! have done some trial and error on what triggers him

shinsou is the biggest HIDER though. grew up learning that being a bother or taking up space and energy is A Problem in fostercare, so he learned to deal with it himself and hide it extremely well. if you start talking about your tummy issues, he will also get a little embarrassed, because it was such taboo for him growing up (never being a Family with anyone until aizawa, with the familiarity and comfort it brings made a lot of subjects embarrassing for him to share). the first time he admits to having a tummy ache you almost call an ambulance bcos he never complains about it 👀

kuroos tummy isnt very sensitive or generally suffers a lot of issues, but he is extremely vocal about every detail and change once hes comfortable with a person. kenma knows more than he'd like to admit about the bowel movements of his best friend. its embarrassing and tmi he thinks, but it is what it is. his biggest tummy issues is that when delicious food is served, he eats a lot and then get aches he complains about all evening 🙂‍↕️ you have to baby him a bit through those pains, or itll last longer than an evening!

id want to call shinsou from bnha but i actually would never do it 🙂‍↔️ his own sleep is so fragile id never dare disturb it. instead id call kaminari and he'd tell me about the latest gossip !!! shinsou would get a little jealous i think. in haikyuu id call akaashi. hes suffering too so he always comes over and rants about deadlines until i fall asleep with my head in his lap 🥺 who would u call???? 🧡

SNØFLE IS SO LOUD!!! all the time!!! he loves yapping like me,,,, he does it in a really high pitched tone... he recently learned to hiss (hes seven, so its a little late) and he utilizes that with every guest now !! he has personal beef with my pc. some years ago i obsessively wrote inked coffee (a long multi chapter) where i spent two weeks obsessively glued to my screen. ever since then he makes sure to sit in front of it and bite me (hes toothless tho) if i spend too long. sometimes my friend who stays with me 50/50 is ordered to distract him so i can have pc time............ 🙇🏻

What's really helpful to you? I mentioned I made a new friend on the Autism Spectrum and I'd like to know what I can do or say to be helpful.

communication thats clear and saying out loud the things that feels obvious to you!! its so important to me, since people sometimes assume i understand context or social rules (i can spend tremendous amount of energy trying to read it, but its so exhausting) so when i know people always say exactly what they think/want/see, i dont have to overthink and fit into neurotypical communication standards.

i think theres practice needed for both ends; saying out loud to me 'ill try and be more obvious in my intents and thoughts, but i need you to know that asking me is also always okay and preferable to you overthinking or maybe even panicking internally!' and like. making sure all types of 'silly' or 'stupid' questions are always open and welcome. the fact that someone else is making that intent obvious to me, makes me relax 1000% times more!!!

and engaging in special interests makes me internally absolutely thrilled and happy. its pure serotonin boost when someone meets my energy about my special interest, even if, or especially!! if, they dont necessarily share my interest? but just show interest in ME being excited about it and not talking down to me about being overexcited etc !!!

i hope u and ur new friend gets closer as time passes and they share their thoughts and needs with you too!! but generally being able to be mindful and open about their needs if they feel bad or share excitement and encouraging thoughts goes a very long way!! 🧡

Something to think about on this fine day....

Shinou has to get a vaccine. He hates vaccines. You make them more fun with bandaids in the most absurd colors and designs.

But what designs does he pick to put on your arm when you get your vaccine?

"hitoshi, get up." you playfully smack at his forearm but all it does is make him curl more in on himself. you snort a laugh and when you try to get your hands underneath the blanket to tickle him, your cat Soup joins the fray. you sit back on your haunches with a raised brow, "you can't hide in there forever. we have to leave in a few minutes."

a sound between a groan and a whine is heard from the pile in front of you before he dramatically throws the duvet off of him and spreads his arms fully onto the bed, "I don't wanna." he moans with his eyes glued shut. you shake your head at his childish antics from his valid fear, "i know baby but you gotta. im in the high risk group, right? and with your job you-" he starts blabbering noises to make you stop before he admits with a pout, "i know.."

you lean down and kiss his forehead, "is there a way i can make this easier? a treat from starbucks on the way back? a muffin from the bakery?"

shinsou huffs, "y'kno we have shared economy, right?"

you roll your eyes, "it's the act of me buying it for you, not the actual money spent."

he blows you a raspberry. you laugh and kiss his nose, "what if we bring our own band-aids? the ones you love with the kittens?"

shinsou's eyes show his earnest excitement about that when he tries to steel his expression. then, he grabs your cheeks with his hands and looks into your eyes, a serious expression painted in his features, "will you put it on me?"

you smile, "if they let me."

it makes it easier. you're also incredibly lucky that the lady vaccinating the both of you is incredibly kind and patient. she lets you go first to show shinsou that it isn't that scary and she lets him put on a band-aid on you if he sanitizes his hands first, which is a good step for him to know that she'll let you do the same when it's his turn. he spent a few minutes debating which band-aids each of you should get and when you see what he put on you, you can't help but coo at him.

it's the one with the black cat that looks like his old cat, the one aizawa and yamada had back when he moved in with them - he's been very careful about when those band-aids are to be used lest they run out, but here he is, willingly putting one on you.

for himself, he's chosen the one that he knows is your favorite. it's the one with the cat you think is the cutest because of the pose. the doctor goes through each step carefully for shinsou as you hold his hand and keep his eyes focused on you.

it's honestly over before he realizes, but he squeezes your hand a moment longer than necessary, as if to silently thank you for being there through his odd anxiety (you don't think it's half as odd as he thinks himself). he only lets go when you need your hand to put on the band-aid.

he sighs out in relief after you've put it on, but let out a surprised yelp when you pat the area after you've put on the band-aid. you heave in a quick breath before you apologize, "i'm so sorry babe that was reflex! i didn't mean to.. oh god, it didn't hurt too bad right?"

he ends up just laughing at you, "you're really hurting me after i've gone through this?"

on the way out you're holding hands, your thumb caressing the hand in yours, reminding him you're here and that he was very brave. when you prompt him about which reward he would like, he scratches the back of his neck as he admits, "i'd like both the coffee and the muffin.. and a kiss."

you happily oblige to all three wishes, only teasing him about being greedy but promising him you'll never deprive him from what he wants. it's a successful day.

you're not sure how to tell him that he'll need to repeat it next year. you'll wait at least 10-11 months before telling him, you think - and you'll maybe buy the specific band-aids as soon as possible and hide them, so you're sure you have them if they're out of production next year.
