Not a knock on Chloe Zhao but more of an indictment of the US film industry. I just think it's q(white) interesting that mainstream awards shows only started recognising Zhao's work that centered white people (Nomadland and Hamnet) and not her first two films that starred Native Americans (Songs My Brothers Taught Me and The Rider) 🤔
