The Waitomo caves, the end result of ancient sea bed rising from millions of years of tectonic plate movement. Such an amazing experience to step into an underground world more than 50 metres below the surface and discover stalactites, air shafts, and dazzling glow worms scattered overhead. This place is truly magical.

It was only after meeting this man and his friends making brooms that I realized how little people earn over here… This man earns less than 50 c NZD an hour as he works each day, carefully and skillfully piecing together these brooms. It hit me that there’s cycles of poverty here and many other places in the world where people have little choice to step out and change their circumstances when they’re still so heavily focused on surviving each day.

Sagar Lake was a great find inviting us with its secret tranquillity. During sunset, it's mud clad walls shimmer a gold tone. And there's more to this 17th Century engineering masterpiece. When the lake would fill to capacity, it would also fill the many stepwells in the region; a primary source of water for forts Amer and Jaigarh. Here in this labyrinth of wonder we took refuge from the chaos of honking horns and street peddling.

First time experiencing a piece of Holi Festival as I rode the skooter into Nabha. Such a fun time walking around the streets and meeting some friendly folk along the way. Needless to say I came back a bit more colourful than when I left this morning!
