Farewell

I know it’s been more than 5 years since we last met. But you were precious friends for me. We shared so many things together... Even though I do not believe in promises, I believed in your words.  My life will definitely change in January. Like, for real. I am not scared (anymore), I feel rather impatient, moved, excited. And this important step, well, I wanted to share it with you. Alright, it is true, you were not the first ones to learn the news. But still. You were people dear to my heart, you still are.  I wrote short, reserved, humble, sincere messages to you.  2 of you never answered (and I know you read them).  2 of you suggested that we met, only Y. came. D. did not even bother to tell me he would not make it. Did not even say sorry. 

What hurts the most, I think, is the fact that deep inside of me, I’m not even surprised. I am sadly realizing that, yeah, you (and me) are just normal people. Out of sight, out of mind. I guess you barely reacted when reading my message, “wow, like I care?” “Delete”.  “Let me introduce Y. to you. She is my best friend. She never judged me and I trust her.” “You will always be welcome” “(smiling) Of course, I remember...” It’s alright.  In the end, it will not really be difficult to erase those ghostly words from my memories.  I have found the place I belong to.  I wasn’t meant to belong to your world.  You weren’t meant to belong to my world.  Let’s turn back into strangers to each other as we have nothing in common anymore. I do wish for your happiness though.
