For the past two and a half years we have had to deal with horrible steep stairs to our flat. They meant we had to carry Robyn up them when she was small to her learning to walk and wanting to climb them but it being dangerous to finally having to take Owen out the pram which resulted in him always waking up. Not to mention bumping the pram up and down the stairs every day which hasn't been good for the pram. Let's not get started on when we have bags of shopping to go along with it all. Now finally we can wheel Owen in to the flat and leave him sleeping and Robyn gets the excitement of the lift. This might just look like a picture of a pretty view but this photo means that so much stress is finally gone. Why do we still have stairs? Honestly, its the the 21st century and we should have fully transitioned to escalators by now. Elon Musk is about to take us to Mars but we still travel from one platform to another in the same way the ancients did. Airports are way ahead of the rest of society when it comes to this issue. Not only do they have escalators next to every set of stairs, but a lot of them have horizontal tracks if you are to lazy to walk. I hope this is what all sidewalks eventually become. Why should we have to perform physical labor, the machines can just do it for us. People often question if science has gone too far, I don’t think it has gone far enough.
