My in-laws gave us some peaches. They are apparently in season! So, why not?
It looks nice. Lovely color. I do notice that it is fuzzy and thus cannot have an apple's smooth, shiny skin.
On first bite, I must say it has no crispness. None. It is the antithesis to crisp. I guess that's some people's thing, but to me, that harms the eatability. How can you snack on this on the go when it's an orb of mush? This is a sit down fruit. I guess I never eat apples while walking, so I guess it's fine.
I will admit it tastes quite good. Is this something that needs to be eaten fresh? Probably not. It's natural mushiness lends perfectly to pies. Not as versatile as an apple, but still good.
Large, juicy, and sweet. It's still good even while lacking some of the key advantages of an apple.
I rate this peach "pretty good" on the Not Apple scale.
