Today's Sugarbee Apple
Um. I got these Sugarbee apples a while ago. I don't remember when exactly, but it was not super recently. Yep. This is an old apple. The skin is getting a little wrinkly.
It's still crisp! Quite crisp. And very juicy!
The flavor is quite mild. Sweet, but not very strong. I wonder if that is due to age. Weak, but not bad flavor. No tart at all though. I like some tart sometimes.
Overall, pretty good for an old apple.
I rate this apple "good" on the Not Honeycrisp scale.
I put on This is a Gardening Show with Zach Galifianakis. The first episode is about apples! So good.
Fascinating!
Important and correct information.
That dog has good taste.

Dr. Acula
Not sure why the image was removed, but it used to be a tweet reading: "imagining a doctor driving by an apple orchard and hissing aggressively at it like a vampire"
Apples or oranges? The answer is clearly apples. At least for eating.

Yesterday's Pink Lady Apple
The other day, my spouse requested apples with caramel. I got caramel dip at the store. Pink Lady™ apples were a good price, so I got those to go with it.
This apple was a little tough. But I think that's ok because this was to be eaten in slices that hold up the caramel, so a little tough isn't bad for this use.
The flavor was good. Not too sweet. Again, not a problem when it has the sweet caramel on top.
I rate this apple "pretty good" on the Not Honeycrisp scale.

Happy New Year Kiddo -
Today's First Kiss Apple
I've never had this variety. I bought them out of intrigue. ....and then I left them in my fridge for an extremely long time. Oops.
Apparently this is a hybrid of Honeycrisp apples and an unreleased variety called AA44.
This apple looks nice. Nice, bright red color, although not all over.
Lovely crisp texture! Even though it's old! Tastes great too. Very much like a Honeycrisp.
I rate this apple 9.3 on the Not Honeycrisp scale.
Because they are so mealy and bland! F**k pears!

Honeycrisp "changed everything," says Jim Bair, the president and CEO of USApple.
Honeycrisps were a game changer. And they are also my favorite. And there's an interesting point about how quality has dipped as production has soared. I should review some more to verify that.
Today's Strands puzzle was right up my alley!
