Finn was out of bed early the next morning for the first time in a long time. He sat out on the deck and watched the sun rise as he took an early morning stroll around his deck. He had never been nervous about a date before even though this wasn’t really a date. He hadn’t taken a girl out since college, since then his “dates” consisted of buying a girl a drink and deciding if they were going back to his place or hers. He didn’t think Rachel was going to be that kind of date. Just the fact that she seemed so innocent in this dating or “non” dating thing was enough to make Finn’s stomach turn and he even considered not even showing up so he wouldn’t have the chance to screw this stupid “non” date up.
But after tossing and turning all night thinking about her in his bed, Finn knew he wanted to see her again. He didn’t really know what it was about her. She wasn’t anything like the girls he’s usually attracted to. Most of the time he chases the tall blonde girls who just laugh at everything he says and never really talk except under the covers. Maybe that’s why he was attracted to Rachel in the first place. She was different from everything his life normally was. That’s what he’s on this boat for right?
After finding out what room Rachel was staying in from the cool dude in the white hat up on the main deck, he decided it was now or never. He hoped surprising her this early wasn’t out of line since they never really discussed when their “non” date would begin, but he was hungry and what better way to start off a “non” date than breakfast. But walking toward her door he started to panic. Shouldn’t he bring her something? Don’t guys do that still?
Looking around he found a vase of flowers in the hall way and after checking to see if anyone was around he quickly pulled a single tulip from the middle of the vase and smiled to himself as he walked toward her door. Taking a deep breath he knocked on the small white door, hoping she was awake and that he wasn’t about to make a really big fool of himself.
