in non sequential did bucky like y/n in the past? like we know that bucky was trying to hide his feelings in the current where he was in wakanda and he also doesn't wanna hurt steve, but did he like her in the past although he knew of steves feelings but still hid it? i remembered the chapter where he kissed y/n and although i know a part of it was cause she told him something bad was gonna happen, was there a part of him that liked/loved her and wanted a chance to do something before he left ?

I would say Bucky started to develop feelings / started to become aware of his feelings for Y/N during the war.
Things were complicated because he found out that Y/N was a time traveler and then it made sense why Steve and her never actually became a couple. Things were even more complicated because even though Bucky saw Y/N has “Steve’s girl,” Steve was actually with Peggy during that time.
So when Bucky started falling for Y/N it didn’t feel like this giant betrayal. Though Bucky had his suspicions about how Steve really felt about Y/N if being with her had been realistic for what the knew at the time.
But yes, when Bucky suspected that he was about to die and that was what Y/N was warning him about, he kissed her. He kissed her because he thought it was the last kiss he’d have for the rest of his life. He wanted something warm and comforting and good before he went. Y/N was all of that to him in that moment.
