Speaking of Non-Sequential - did you plan out the reader's timeline fully beforehand and then adjust it to Steve's?

I knew moments throughout the story that I needed to hit for certain things to make sense. Basically I had checkpoints for myself. But I didn't have a detailed or formal outline of it. (Though that probably would've made my life easier 😂)

With that warning about Not kissing Private Lorraine, I just picture Steve in that scene now trying to read Natalie dormers name tag and that's part of why he's so squirmy haha, loved the connection!!

The Firsr Avenger was actually on TV and I turned it on right during that part. I always love how Agent Carter reacted to it because that’s how I would’ve reacted.

So I just imagined Steve telling Y/N in the present about how Peggy shot a gun at him for kissing another dame once. And Y/N laughing her ass off.

“Her name was Private Lorraine and I’ll regret not pushing her away for the rest of my life,” Steve sighed

“Peggy’s a badass. You got what you deserved,” Y/N managed to say through her laughter.

At this point, I just want to tell someone else how Non-Sequential is meant to end and have them fucking write it. 

Like, I know how it ends. I’ve always known. Why is it so hard to just finish it and be done with the fucking thing?

sorry-i thought of another theory about nonsequential- what if the reader dies (in present) and her past (obviously before she dies) goes to the future (where there is no reader existing no more) -is that possible in your fic universe? cause i remeber thinking in the chapter where she goes to the future and sees steve (right after she left the hydra thing where she was badly injured)- made me think: what happened (bc you wrote about steve having not used reader's name in a long time & he moved)

Yes. If the reader dies, her past self can technically travel forward, beyond where she’s actually live. 

So if Y/N died in 2019, the version of her in the past could travel beyond her own life into the future. 

But keep in mind, that would mean she’d probably figure out when exactly she dies.

(1/3) This ain't really gonna make a lotta sense but When does Y/N from 'Non Sequential' first gain knowledge of her time travelling events in the past? Like when Y/N first met Steve it was at the Compound in Ch2, she didn't know who he was (so she didn't remember travelling to the 40's). So does she have to wait to be the age as she was when she travelled to specific events to know what happened (like in Ch6 kinda how when she told 40's!Steve she was in-love with her BF & later when she trav...

(2/3) travelled to the present and Steve remembered she told Past!Steve she was in-love with her BF and he found out she was talking about him). Orrrr is it like that thing (not a good example - but is Y/N's powers like destined to happen) from Twilight; how the vampires couldn't use their abilities on Bella because her power from the beginning; before she was a vampire, was Immunity to vampire powers. Or does Y/N only remember the events straight after they happened in her present after she...

Sorry if I've bothered you with this, I've had this question since the beginning of reading 'Non-Sequential' & I know you've answered similar questions like this about the timeline & her age, but I can't find any where you go into detail about her own memories about specific events. Lmao I'm so invested. But sorry if I've annoyed you, I really love the series, so thank you

DEAR GOD. You guys really overcomplicate the time traveling in Non-Sequential. 😂

And you completely lost me with Twilight reference. I literally have no idea what your connection to that is. 

I’ve said this once and I’ll say it a thousand times more. If you read or watched The Time Traveler’s Wife, all of your time traveling questions would be answered. 

I’ve explained all the time traveling before. If this doesn’t help, I truly don’t know how else to say it.

I drew this stupid picture because I have lost all hope on explaining this to people, ‘cause clearly my writing is shit and no one understands any of it. These are no set to exact dates, so don’t use that as an exact reference:

Ok yeah, that last line in chapter 26 hurt but I am also worried about where we are in the timeline! So I guess we know that that time she travelled to the future and Steve was sad it's not cos she ran off with Bucky.... I am worried

I will neither confirm or deny that Y/N ran off with Bucky.

what year is it in the latest chapter of non sequential? is it right after civil war or is it around/before/after endgame or something? also, after the reader time travelled from being in hydras territory to the future where she was badly hurt, what happened - it sounded as if Steve hadn't seen/said her name in a long time. so did she die around that time or is there a small gap where she didn't exist currently because she was in the past - is that possible? I think you said 2 of her can exist ?

In Chapter 25 of Non-Sequential it is 2018.

Just finished binging non sequential and it’s sooo good. I’m so torn with who she should be with. I’m rooting for them both lol but kinda leaning towards Bucky at this point. Also... still a bit confused on the time travel lol just from when she came from 2012 to 2015, but her present was also 2015? Her pst self can travel too? Or shouldn’t it always be her present self that’s traveling? Does that make any sense? 😂

I just can’t bring myself to explain the time travel more simply...

Her timeline and the times she visits Steve in the past aren’t linear. 

She could be 28 years old, visiting Steve in 1933. And then could be the 22 years old, visiting Steve in 1937. 

Y/N didn’t start traveling until she was 18. The first place she ever travels to is the Arctic, right where Steve was frozen below ice.

Once the year is past when Y/N is born, there can also be two version of Y/N in the present at one time: a present Y/N and a version of Y/N visiting from either the past or future.
