I will never understand why other artists hate the papermate sharpwriter pencils. The lead doesn't break, the erasers are pretty good, when you erase there isn't any issue of wasting lead, you can add an eraser to the end once the original wears down, and they make decent blending sticks for colored pencils! And they're not that expensive!
