Uh... nickname headcanon time? I guess?

For a while, I needed to have Ninjago nicknames ready in my brain whenever I wrote. Then I would have to remember the ones the fandoms made up. Then I decided "fuck it; just make a list so that it's ready to go."

So, here's random list that I have slowly gathered up. As you can see, I list the character, and then I'll put the nicknames that they'll call the others below that. Some nicknames I am well aware exist, but don't like (example: "Pebble" for Cole) or my creative juices die for characters I rarely write about (literally anybody that's not the OG 4), so this is not a comprehensive list of every nickname within the fandom. Just ones that I like and would like to use at some point.

May or may not be in reference to a fic idea I've been thinking about for a while now...

As I think more about the Land of Lost Things, I start to wonder how the weather works there. Maybe I shouldn't be, but I can't help it I guess.

The Land of Lost Things is a desolate waste land. The massive amounts of fog are enough to confuse those within of what time it may be, and they can only estimate based on the vague brightness of the sky beyond. No one should be able to survive here, but somehow, they manage.

Does the weather work in reverse to the outside world? Does it work in a way where, if the outside world is mid-summer, they start getting the first snow, because a lot of people end up looking back on winter with rose-tinted glasses?

Or is it, in a way, a lack of weather? Maybe they get differing wind strengths. Or maybe just one constant wind sweep. Maybe they get a lot of rain. Maybe the temperature doesn't change, not being too hot nor too cold.

In a way, one seems more merciful, able to help one keep their sanity and hope.

I've seen a few fics of Cole's first days in the Land of Lost Things, and I eventually want to make a fic of my own, which leads me to wonder how things that would work in other realms would work here. Pointlessly? Yeah, probably. But it keeps my mind busy.

Before I forget again:

Raj and Wayne story, where they make a deal that, if neither of them are married by the time they're 30, they'll marry each other. They make this deal when they're like 15. Then they enter themselves into the show, and yeah, Raj finds Bowie, so Wayne has to figure out what he wants to do.

This can lead to some angst, where he feels like he's falling behind in life due to not having a partner too, or he feels forgotten, or whatever. So he could go on this journey through dating and eventually finds someone he's interested in - before the age of 30, or he realizes that he doesn't want to be in a relationship and is just fine with being everyone's friend, or whatever.

Idk, I feel like that plot where the best friends make a marriage pact could work with them.

TDI 2023 Season 2 Spoilers

They would be used sparingly, but if season 2 can bring in past contestants, I wouldn't mind doing so myself.

I have one in mind for DJ, but I'm not gonna spoil it here, in case y'all want the cameos. I also headcanon a few of the characters to either be related to or somehow connected to previous competitors. (Chris will torture all generations.)

Old Chef was known for his mean attitude, disgusting food, and general rudeness towards the competitors. It was obvious why Chris chose him to work with him, especially in later seasons. They were two evils that were there to torture the contestants. While he helped the campers tend their wounds, I wouldn't say it was because of an actual fondness. He made it very clear in Action that he had a lack of emotion when they had to do those plays to make him cry.

New Chef's attitude has almost completely flipped. He helps out a lot more around the camp- especially during the campfire scenes, cares about the contestants (whether it's for better ratings or just because he actually cares about them is left up in the air), and is just all around more pleasant to see. It feels like he's trying to make the campers more ashamed of their failures by making it obvious his disappointment in them is. (I thought it was cute how proud he looked of Priya in the first episode of the second season.)

I think new Chef brings a sort of charm to the new season. He works a little against Chris until the finale, which is just super odd. Why did he care so much about the contestants' safety until the last episode, where he was actively making the challenges harder and more dangerous? Was it because it was less likely for anything really bad to happen? The finale's challenges were kind of lame, so for serious injuries to have occurred, Priya and Bowie would have had to actually try to hurt themselves.

Depending on which is voted for, things can easily play out drastically different.

With previous finalists, it felt like there was more of a theme. Total Drama Island had the introvert (Gwen) VS. the extrovert (Owen). Action had the book smart (Beth) VS. the street smart (Duncan). World Tour had the "lesser evil" (Heather) VS. the "greater evil" (Alejandro). Revenge of the Island had the nerd (Cameron) VS. the jock (Lightning).

All Stars kinda just went with a couple (Mike and Zoey) and called it good (I didn't personally like this season, and it kinda had no theme I think). I don't really think that Pahkitew Island had specific winners, either. They went with a nut job (Shawn) VS. some girl (Sky). (As you can see, I'm pretending to know what I'm talking about. I did not watch Pahkitew Island enough to know these characters as much as the other seasons'.)

The Reboot's original finalists didn't have the first four season's thing, and chose a character that was basically born to play this game (Priya) VS. the series' first openly gay character (Bowie). If I was to choose the finalists while keeping one of these original finalists, it would have been Priya VS. Damien (because Damien has no idea what this game is about while Priya definitely does) or maybe Bowie VS. Zee (because Bowie is supposed to be really competitive and Zee definitely is not that).

I could easily be overthinking this, of course. But I can honestly work with whatever. I love [almost] all of these characters and I'm willing to give any of them a better shot at the million.

(Off Topic: The wiki has Bowie's label listed as the "Lovable Party Boy", but I don't remember him being particularly interested in partying. I believe it was to be less offensive, since being labeled the "Gay One" is kinda rude, but the label just doesn't work. Actually, a few of the new contestants' labels don't really work. Like, what is "The Gorgeous with a Side of Substance" (Nichelle) supposed to mean? "The Bad Boy" (Ripper) doesn't really work either. I'm not giving fault to the Wiki runners; I don't blame them for this, because it's not their fault. I'm just complaining.)
