… Astral Wanderer🐺👑 …
One of November’s Patreon pieces! More about this particular piece & oc below, so it’s a longish post sorry!
It’s very fitting that it’s visible nb day for me to share one of last month’s Patreon pieces today. This Astral Wanderer piece & the character seen are my namesake/sona, Salem. The pieces below are also all iterations of that same sona because like my gender their appearance isn’t solid. There are a few markers that stay the same like the eyes, some jewelry, the fur mantle etc. but the hair and body and range from being masked in fur to bone to nothing or even appearing as a wolf. Being nonbinary, especially genderqueer made me realize that certain physical markers stay the same but how I present them and feel about said markers isn’t solid. It’s always changing.
And sometimes like my sona, Salem. I don’t want my face to be perceived for people to make snap judgments about my gender, I want the mystery to leave people guessing. Other times, I don’t mind being seeing in my entirety and to hell with who perceives me and makes their judgements. And sometimes I want to be an otherworldly creature that captivates and terrifies the observer. So that’s all tied into the original piece & character.

i was super nervous posting anything because sometimes i feel invalidated and ‘not queer enough’ by people around me, but after the first two photos (taken only like 2 minutes apart) i realised it was important to acknowledge my identity if not for myself but for others who might feel like me and seeing photos of other non-cis ppl on my dash encouraged me. i may not be comfortable in my own skin just yet, but it’s a start.
Stephen Sutton inspired people with his incredible positivity, and desire to use his limited time left to make a difference. He hit headlines around the world, and countless people wanted to pay tribute to him. After his death, he was honoured with a string of awards. Chris went to collect them, and appeared on television in a heels, a dress and looking, as they describe themselves, “offensively queer”...
